Many people just fundamentally CANNOT run their own business. I am one of those people. I am TERRIFIED of risk of running a business. I can barely get my own work done in a day let alone all the managerial stuff and the holy shit levels of risk threatening to bankrupt you each and every day.

I would rather think that they (the we in his context) took the current KNOWN opportunities from yesteryear. Which in hindsight is easy to see as opportunities being taken. However, there are and always will be new opportunities to arise in the present, but they are obscure, hidden and often combined with a certain risk factor. So I disagree with this statement.

That said, it is true that being from a more wealthy (middle class included) that the timeframe given to you to experiment and try to find those opportunities is larger because of more resources. And it is DEFINITALY not easy.

This is it. This is why people can’t get out of poverty. Being broke is a bank problem. Being poor is a mental problem. Who took all the opportunities? So in the entire world there isn’t anything left to do? This way of thinking is why many poor people stay poor.

I got out. Anyone else can. God bless you all and good luck.

If my friends couldn’t afford to feed their kids I would help them. I might be wrong about him specifically but usually people like this are entirely unwilling to take any real action to help people. They want to demand that the government help them and they want the government to steal from the rich to pay for it. It’s the least charitable people demanding charity.
If you just want a policy to help the poor then abolish (or lower) taxes on food, clothing and footwear. This would be a big help if you’re poor, and very little help if you’re rich.

If working hard and being entrepreneurial was the key to getting rich farmers and housewives in sub Saharan Africa & workers in the sweat shops of South Asia would be driving super cars.

If everyone became an entrepreneur, there wouldn’t be anyone to work at all of those businesses!!!!!! Our economy is designed to rely on workers, but entrepreneurs insist on underpaying and overworking those key people every business needs just so they can picket more themselves!!!!!!!!!!!

Those who have gotten rich: well done. Best thing they can do with that wealth? Make it create more wealth by starting up businesses and EMPLOYING those who need a good, honest job. Everyone wins.

I’m sorry but there’s less poverty today than there was 20 years ago. Some people are lazy and some people are struggling what causes mental illness is bad parenting, bad betrayals and seeing horrific acts of violence not a millionaire telling you to work harder. Dressed like a child with childish opinions

So true. Coming from poverty myself I've only been able to be financially stable out of pure dumb luck. I was getting no more than 20 hours a week at $9 an hour at Starbucks and I took a chance on applying for a job I thought I'd never get,, got a call, got an interview, got the job. It wasn't until years later I realized the high turn over the company experiences and that it really was dumb luck, they would have taken anyone at that point.

to become incredibly successful its not just mindset either, but luck, talent and skill. obviously a genius, someone who puts the effort in with no commitments will be more likely to succeed than an average person just struggling to balance work, kids and their own business

And if we are all entrepreneurs, who's gonna do all the "normal" jobs that we actually need to do?
Think about it, Birmingham city council bin men have gone on strike over pay and none of the rubbish is being collected and it's piling up in the streets.... That's just one job that isn't being done...can you imagine if there were no construction workers, doctors, nurses, truck drivers etc etc but we are all entrepreneurs instead.... Society simply couldn't function,
Pay people fairly, stop driving up the cost of living and stop this stigma that these jobs are low class and more people might be willing to do these jobs.

They wouldn't do it. They mind needs to be awaken to the idea that's its possible to succeed at it first. You just spewing become an entrepreneur is like saying just become an astrophysicist, or doctor. They'll immediately think of how much harder they'll have to work. Not to mention the delayed gratification involved. They wouldn't want to work for free, they would need compensation immediately and not even be able to maintain the vision.

Entrepreneurship is not easy. That is misinformation

Lastly, if you sir are soo concerned with the system that drives poverty for new generation, then my good sir please create a system that educate the poor on how to be wealthy in this corrupt system. You clearly have some things figured, teach people.

That's a lot harder and more beneficial than jumping on podcasts and throwing blame around. Everyone and they mama can see the system is inefficient. Talking about it changes nothing.

We need more systems that guide people in the right direction more so than the wrong one. But if trading is not for everyone and not everyone is meant to be a trader. I guess you felt your best option is to talk about it.
That's fine, I won't argue with your conclusion but I think trying to teach people that skill would help a lot more people
