BEST LENS TO SHOOT A FASHION SHOW

Great talking points, and tips especially in the fashion industry!

I have been in many pits during NY Fashion week. These are have sound tips. The 70 to 200 was my main for the runway. 85 i used for red carpet

The sweet spot for me has been 35-150(Tamron). Most of the shows that I've done didn't involve runways that were too far away so I often had more than enough reach. It's a versatile enough lens that I'm able to use it in small spaces or large. Honestly, with enough light, I would even use the 60-600 from sigma but I don't happen to own that one.

I have the 70-200 Nikkor lens, and I use it on a Nikon D850....it is so heavy! Very worth it.

I agree with you. I use my 70 200 Sigma for portrait photos. The only draw back is it can be heavy at time

I have only done a couple of fashion shows. I use the 70-200 and the 24-70. I was wondering about the 85. I'll be giving it a go on tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

85mm is a must

Thanks for the information...I will shoot NY Fashion week starting Thursday. I have Sigma 24-70,I will rent a Sony 70-200.
