You do not mess with the IMF, this is the reason you should have experienced economists with ability to deal with the IMF. It is advisable to contact Ranil Wickremasinghe and obtain his expertise on the IMF conditions agreed at the time of entering in to agreement with IMF This new government is playing with fire.

These issues with the Ceylon petroleum corporation indicates the importance of long term solid constructive negotiations from the onset prior to entering in to an agreement, especially seeking a fixed rate to cover fluctuations of prices of petroleum and long term and forward planning prior to agreements from the onset.

Charges should be brought against former President Ranil Wickramasinghe for allegedly exploiting his authority in negotiating agreements with the IMF. Once this agreement came to light, it became evident that it may have been designed to push the country toward financial strain by 2028. Beyond the terms themselves, the agreement includes high interest rates, excessive fees compared to those imposed on other countries, and other restrictive conditions. Why did he structure it this way? Was he aiming for political gains with Western interests?
