if you dont have a heart crystal i recommend making a basket or elven harp they are the cheapest love weapon I know, you can forge them under STAFF (yes a basket is considered a staff, but in this game you can turn a carrot into a sword so WTF do I know)

I love how everyone says that its super hard to tame monsters way higher level than you, but while i was doing the Obsidian Mansion i went to that place to the left of it (i think where you save Leon) and easily tamed a level 125 Furpy on my third try

All I did was throw an apple I found on the way at typhoon and got it 😂 lol

I this typhoon monster really worth it other than saying you tamed it? I have a thunderbolt horse who is worlds tougher than him. Just curious. Also btw I found that secret area by COMPLETE accident! I had no idea that a typhoon could open it.

I think the name typhoon is from Greek mythology there is a monster named typhoon in that was like hard af for the gods to defeat lol😂

Using the boss escape glitch you can make taming typhoon so much easier by farming him and then just giving him the drops when you feel you have enough.

Tamed this bad boy today! All it took me was brushing him and one recovery potion...on my first try!! I guess I was extremely lucky

I'm going to cry, I literally didn't know the typhoons hit and I was freaking out since I had been farming giant crystal flowers, etc. Watched this as i threw a piece of bread at his face from Porco and got him. Mind you I am level 175 so... thanks goes making this anyways lol

lol i tamed him first try. im level 144 and i threw 1 orichalum at him and i tamed him

Typhoon is arguably the best monster in the game.

anyone else notice the portrait for him looks like the Jupiter Djinn from Golden Sun on GBA? which when acquired gives you access to a skill called Typhoon (ninja class i believe).

I was literally like barely level 120 I thought you just brushed them once I did this and started chucking everything in my inventory at it did this 4 times with no love affinity and it was like your cool I like this piece of scrap metal you chucked at me let's be friends and I proceeded to bulldoze the floating empire with Typhon good times man

Giving copper, iron ore, and silver... 10 minutes. No brushing u can get it.
Relies on luck no need for extras.

So what benefit does Typhoon have for your farm if you tame it?

About the Love Crystal, if you're interested in doing other things that need it later (like a new Heart Pendant), it's better to ship the first one you find instead. Once it sells on the next day, you can buy more from Raven instead of having to grind another one.
Every shop list that changes items every day also changes when you reset the game, so you can just call Raven to your party, save, then talk to her to check the list and reset away. Buy as many as you want/can once it finally shows up. It's rare, but this easily beats the alternative if you don't care about it being Lv. 1.
I think the unlockable gem merchant at the inn may sell them too, as he sells the colored cores and the other elemental crystals, but I didn't see it show up there...

Years later, it works with every boss but I havent tried it on typhoon. You can warp out after he drops the item if any, but before his little spirit thing floats away to the forest of beginnings like every other monster. Doing this at the right moment let's it drop the item but still exist for the day. I've used this trick to farm marionettes and ambrosia multiple times a day for easy money early on. I cant imagine why typhoon would be the one oddball but it's worth a shot

Is there some use for typhoons in previous games?

There is actually an exploit to farm this guy for easy mealy apples. If you use the teleport button the moment that he dies before the way out is unblocked you can come back to the area and he will be there again. I can’t remember if this works for other bosses but I believe so.

He explained everything except how to find the monster. I've searched the areas around autumn road and can't find any trace of him.

I got two typhoons now they were easier to get than some boss monsters
