I say that jokingly but I bet I'm wouldn't be surprised if they did cost that much.. My daughter works in a hospital and the cost of the simplest plastic throw-away would floor you, and the ones that are meant to last simply don't. Equipment is so poorly made that it barely lasts a year before breaking. They weigh tons sometimes but the electronics inside are cheap. No one knows how to fix anything but the manufacturers (through design) and they charge a mint and take forever. So equipment sits idle for months. It's criminal what manufacturers do.
