Bought this radio 1 year ago died 3 months ago, the screen is black, reseted battery unpluged did al I could do, paid 579 for it worst money spent ever. Stay away.

My mom used to have 2006 4Runner sr5 last we trade 2017 4runner limited. My mom’s old car has 61,000 we sold it last year to get a new one because after we have 2 accident in 2008 and 2009 in the rear after couple years later water started to leak my dad tried to find but my dad couldn’t find it. So, We ended up trading in for brand new 2017 4runner limited that car have navigation, leather, sunroof and back up camera. And it’s come with LED tailight , black housing headlight, and black and silver rims. That car is the best. :)

Hi mayiandjay, great video explaining disassemble and assembly. I think this question was ask but didn't see any answer. For the GPS are the maps already installed? or does that have to be purchased though Toyota dealer?

After about 8 months of nearly trouble free operation, the unit has developed some glitches that seem to defy any remedy. We have rebooted it a couple of time and still the radio operation is sketchy (tuner malfunctions, touch screen doesn't work, no volume from the knob control) and the nav is hit or miss at best. We will be looking for a replacement soon.

Great video thank you so much . The panel by the drivers knees how you remove it want to install a switch in the empty slot also a switch located there is loose and I just can't push it it goes to deep and gets stuck

One thing, though: it wasn't clear where you ended up locating the GPS receiver. It looked like you were placing it inside the dash at first then later located it elsewhere. We found a round plug centered between the windshield vent louvers which came right out and we were able to route the GPS cable through that back into the dash and to the rear of the unit. Perfect.
