now this is cool ! first time i see lathe like this ! this will come in handy when making handles and stuff for your restoration videos !! great video !
ОтветитьI inherited one of these from my father in law who used it to turn plastic for model making. Mine didn’t come with a power pack, so I use a 6V rechargeable battery. They are a great tool and can be made into a lathe and milling machine.
I have mine secured to a board for stability. It’s a must as it moved around too much without it.
They’re a great little unit and can turn the smallest parts for scratch built models.
I’ll be interested in seeing what you do with yours.
I have the same one :) I bought a small bandsaw from an older guy in Austria and he gave me this as a bonus :)
ОтветитьSuper zadeva😀
ОтветитьI bought a set from eBay, and it doesn't contain the modelling examples booklet you have. Even the user manual looks like from the last century. I guess this is an updated version?
ОтветитьWhen i was 12.. I wanted one, My father told me "No!" better save money for a decent lathe.. I now have 2 EMCO Lathes.. an EMCO Compact5 CNC and an EMCOturn 120.. glad i listened to my father back then.. Oh.. and i also refurbished his EMCO Unimat SL, and i tested it by turning some Titanium i had lying around.. bet you can't turn that on the Unimat 1
ОтветитьHello, I sold this toy in a department store in Prague before Christmas in 1991, maybe 92. I was studying at university at the time and had it as a part-time job. Sales were very good. We were sold out a few days before Christmas day. I recently discovered that the kit is still being sold in an almost unchanged form. It contains several accessories and mainly the base plate on which the individual machines are fixed. I hope you have a lot of fun with the toy.
ОтветитьFun little toy. I might get one at some point to play with, and then give it to one of my nephews once they are a bit older.
I wonder if you could just fill up the main aluminium frame pieces with some cement/plaster/concrete to give it a bit more weight and stability?
