Random's Child

Gillespie (Carroll O'Connor) is reunited with his daughter Lana (Christine Elise), when she comes to Sparta to settle her inheritance; however, she's been followed by her mother's ex-boyfriend, Carl DeLissa (Robert O'Reilly), who claims that it all belongs to him, and he and his sidekick, Jack Smet (Steven Raulerson), are willing to take drastic measures to collect. When they attack Lana at her motel and steal her inheritance papers and car, she's quickly moved to the home of Virgil (Howard Rollins) and Althea Tibbs (Anne-Marie Johnson), and the Sparta police fly into action to track down and apprehend DeLissa and Smet. While staying with the Tibbs, Lana's opinion about Gillespie softens when she is able to learn more about him from Aunt Etta (Tonea Stewart) and Harriet DeLong (Denise Nichols). Is a relationship possible between a father and a daughter who are complete strangers? Alan Autry, David Hart, Hugh O'Connor, Crystal Fox, Dee Shaw, Mark Johnson and Harvey E. Lee Jr. also star.
