Wow what a place its a real aladins cave
ОтветитьThat M1 is a thing of beauty, stunning looking car
ОтветитьL&C ST JHONS ROAD .,.....redifushion strorge at Silverdale I remember the m1
ОтветитьNever noticed this before, but it does look like a DeTomaso Pantera's angular cousin.
ОтветитьPlease let's have lots more Munich Legends content!
ОтветитьDidn't Richard Hammond drive an M1 in an old episode of a Top Gear challenge between the 3 of them? Then Richard went on to wreck the hell out of the M1 in the challenge, as they always tended to do in challenges, back then?... Now, please correct me if I'm mistaken on Richards wrecking of an M1 in a Top Gear challenge?
ОтветитьThe owner sounds a bit like Chris Harris.
ОтветитьBMW design and quality on cheaper models must be a let down for their fan boys. But even Lotus now have an ungainly plastic SUV
Ответитьwow what a collection. I wish I had one of those
Ответитьsa-wha-rows! and Ach-o-tea-os!
ОтветитьAll the best bmw shapes!
ОтветитьNice shorts Jonny.
Nice video too! 🍻
I love BMW's!
ОтветитьRemember seeing a white M1 in Dublin outside 71 Rosemount Ave in Artane. I think in the early 80s ,I went to see it with my nextdoor neightbour Paul Lyons , As many people from Ireland at that time went to England to work , So whoever had made it big in London and owned the car brought it back . If you are the owner of that car and are looking at this post Big thanks for the memories. As every time I see anything on the internet about the M1 I think of that time as a young teenager seeing it .PS not to far away from Larry Mullins family home house , regards Pat Nolan
ОтветитьI started driving BMW's back in the 70's in Vermont,(the ones with round tail lights), and still remember the massive amount of fun they provided! This was am absolute joy to watch and you can feel the emotion the owner has for this "vintage" dealership. So many limited production cars from back when they really were the "Ultimate Driving Machine". Thank you for stirring up the memories.
ОтветитьIt's literally a DeLorean with popup headlights, so DeLorean copied this car in 1980's. It's almost an exact copy when you put them against each other.
ОтветитьGreat episode Jonny. Cheers for the entertaining & interesting content brother.
ОтветитьMy favourite BMW CSL which they used in Touring Car Racing. In New Zealand we have a CSL painted in Gold with Benson & Hedges printed on it used in Touring Car Racing and Long Distance Racing.
ОтветитьDennis Collin from Texas USA restored a BMW M1 and has a few video’s on it.
ОтветитьIn '98 I was visiting family in Essex from the US and we were walking to the shops downtown. There was a M1 parked on the street and it stopped me in my tracks. I stood and stared at it as my family continued to walk along. They called back for me to catch up and all I could say to them was "you have no idea how special this car is" .
ОтветитьThat intro 😮😮😮 For a proper BM fangirl like me, I was gone just at the hint of a tour of those incredible specimens 🥰
I’d move into Munich Legends just to sit there and be amongst them 🥰
Need to go back and drive others at this site
ОтветитьI've senen an M1 for several years on a daily basis in a BMW showroom near Breda, the Netherlanda. Cycled many times past it. The cyclepath went closer to the dealership comapaired to the road (for cars) passing by it. What a lovely sight it was. What a great design. Was about 15 years ago. Wonder if it's still there.
ОтветитьThat was a fantastic look at very cool shop. And you're not wrong Johnny...BMW was fantastic for decades...now they look absolutely horrendous.
ОтветитьMy comment is slightly different. I took delivery of one of the first M1’s destined for UK in 1980 and sold my last BMW - an E30 - to Munich Legends in 1999. So your video brought back many happy memories. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьA one of classic
ОтветитьLove the old BMWs. The smells, the ride feel, commuted them for years. Such solidity. These exotics are absolutely drool worthy.
ОтветитьThe reason BMW make them look like that now is because China is now their biggest market, and they love that tacky shite. It's not about us anymore.
ОтветитьSpot on about the newest BMW "designs"
ОтветитьBasf advert for me back in the day 👍👍
ОтветитьThe only right hand drive M1 ever made is in my home town, Adelaide Australia 👍🏼
ОтветитьI agree that modern BMW's have been hit with the ugly stick. And I agree that it is unacceptable. In fact my enthusiasm for new BMW's has been ruined by the styling. However, would not touch the new Neue Klasse with a barge pole either, too much tech and I hate EV's with passion.
No this M1 will suit me fine. Back to reality, my old E36's will not be replaced by something modern.
So if I book my E39 in for a wheel nut adjustment or some other superfluous job, I can drive the green E39 Alpina?
ОтветитьEvery time I see a vintage BMW video it makes me think of I think Kipling's The Fingersmith. It's a short story, look it up and read it. It's magic. My spine is tingling right now.
ОтветитьGuy knows his stuff, but can he rebuild a BMW E39 Servotronic steering rack, incl. sorting the solenoid and GMIII module? There is simply no info out there on any of it, you're on your own. Hardest thing I ever did in 30 years of cars.
ОтветитьWhat a treat! Have owned so many including an 02 tii turbo... Thanks Jonny 🎉❤
ОтветитьAlways loved the M1 and the race focused suspension on a street car is really cool. I was so excited when I got the keys to take my hero out for a drive. Fired it up and then tried to get it into reverse. With long legs and knees up around the steering wheel, typical Italian positioning, trying to get the gear lever into reverse and first was impossible. I would not get into a position to properly work the throttle and gear lever and had to turn the key off and walk away. At 6’2 I am not crazy tall but taller it seems than the pro drivers.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьPeople in England driving along, come to their house, stop the car blocking the lane and go inside . . . wtf
Ответитьoow. Cheeky bit of Woolarding going on with the boat view . Sweet 👍👍
ОтветитьI had one of these albeit remote controlled in the early 80's when a kid. BMW M1-G4. Loved it, flip up lights, indicators, and reverse lights all worked, and it was quick. Nostalgia! Nice video Johnny.
ОтветитьWhat a car! As I remember, BASF tapes used it in their TV adverts. The good old days of music cassettes…. I remember making a ‘seduction mix’ back in the day - tunes guaranteed to woo the ladies (Avalon by Roxy Music etc etc)
ОтветитьGreat video jonny some absolute stunners there wow some of them cars in back never mind front I would have killed for growing up
ОтветитьBack in the late 1980s, there was a white M1 that was usually sitting in the parking lot at the Lakers-Kings practice facility in El Segundo, California. Always looked epic!
ОтветитьBMW should make a retro-mod electric sports car from the M1. And/or a fully electric i8.
ОтветитьCool cars but it's no 2CV😂
ОтветитьBMW M1 procar is is one my favourites of all time
ОтветитьI still turn my head when I see a nice M-spec E46, E36 or E90, BMW design has gone completely down the toilet…
ОтветитьGreat vid thanks, perfect amount of history, info about the models and driving. Love the shot from over your shoulder as you run through the gears. Could only have been improved by getting a separate mic nearer the engine. Please go back and drive some of the others….
