Dr. Remen is my hero! Kitchen Table Wisdom caught my eye at a table during a conference, and it has become my favorite book for the last 20 years. At the time, I was struggling with a decision to change careers and the book helped ease my guilt for trading my calling (social worker for many years) for a more lucrative career while planning ahead for my retirement in a few years. After reading this mesmerizing book a couple of times, I also bought My Grandfather's Blessings. Then a friend borrowed and never returned them (claiming other family members were reading them :)...so I got 2 pairs, one for me and the other to gift a grieving friend; since then I've given them to quite a few friends going through a loss, or just because I knew they would appreciate them as much as I do! Thank you Dr. Remen for your wisdom, expertise and warmth!
