This questions of work/life balance and trading time for money were literally the two things I couldn’t find in my research about this career and the only things that would stand in my way of considering this career option. I know it makes great money but if there’s not a lot of freedom and autonomy (w/my schedule & time), it’s an absolute no for me. So thanks for this! Now would you say that it’s this way with most companies (lost of time freedom and location freedom) or just some?

I am also in software sales in Dallas, everything you said about software sales is 100% true! I highly recommend it.

Hey Trent, love the content man. Curious what your thoughts are around Not hitting quota. While software sales is super lucrative, it’s performance based 100%. What if you are unable to hit that number due to a new product market, gtm strategy.

There are so many stigmas to working in sales! I just started as an SDR at a medical software company, and this video confirmed a lot of what I’ve already experienced after only a couple days working. So much learning for me right now, but I’m up for the challenge and so excited to start creating leads!

Hey Trent!

Graduating next year with a degree in Data Science and Stats, wanting to go into SaaS Sales Engineering.

Given that I’m graduating next May, when should I apply?

Thanks, keep up the channel! 👍

Hi Trent, could you please make a video on how you manage and organize your leads? I also use outreach and salesforce, but when you have 450 emails going out per day, i find it hard to stay organized with my leads and if i called them/how many times i called them. love the content, thank you!

I’m in sales up here in Canada and have been approached by a company to start on as an Account Executive. I’m scared to jump ship and lose my client list that I’ve developed at my current job, but your videos get me pumped at the prospect. Thanks for the content I think it’s helped clarifying my career path 🤙🏼

Excellent content! I wish I had this when I was 18! It took me 12 years in consulting to discover presales engineering. Quick correction though… regardless what they tell you, consulting is all about utilization, so at the core, your performance is tied to the amount of billable time you spend. This is the same regardless of if you work for a big firm, or independent consultant unless the delivery is purely performance based and results based. Almost all engagements are charged and traded for billable hours… and I highly doubt investment bankers will claim that they set their own hours. It’s a 60+ hours a week job and some of them skip relatives’ funeral to get a pitch book ready.

What's your opinion on all the tech layoffs going on at the moment ? Such as Klarna and Netflix .

Lots of people are crying tech buble is bursting ....

I've spent 3 months as a BDR and so far all I see is myself putting a load of effort in and getting nothing out of it. Maybe this is just enterprise sales...

I’m excited to get back into sales. I used to cold call for a real estate company and do door to door selling Verizon cable in college. I have a psychology/ economics degree and I’ve been in healthcare ever since but the money is no good. I fixed up my resume for sales and I’m looking to get a job! Hopefully i can get one around the fall. I’m tired of not making enough money. I’m grateful the algorithm suggested your channel to me!!!
