If memory serves me right, I recall you did a video on NV route 207 years back, but going Westbound to Stateline & US 50.
Having gone back to rewatch that older video, it is very scenic regardless of which direction one goes on it- although the video speed is a little on the too fast time in comparison to this. Nevertheless, that video deserves to remain on the channel until you do make over of it.
Enjoy ur videos
And this one is special
It’s filmed on my Birthday😁
I moved to Gardnerville, NV almost a year ago and I have a view of Kingsbury from my kitchen window. I love it! Lovely Video!
ОтветитьHi Kyle, My brother was from Tracy CA, also. How do I contribute to YOU, and your CHANNEL ?? I just want to be SURE, you get all that I send. Are you a cinematographer, by trade ?? I am Lenny, from Carson City, NV. I just watched your Kingsbury Grade video / history lesson 😁.
ОтветитьThank you so much for these videos you make, Kyle.
I enjoy them very much.
Greets from the Netherlands.
Kingsbury Grade is no longer the white-knuckle drive that it was back in the late 70's. I'm surprised that they didn't have signs asking, "Do you really want to go this way?" Scenery is always more spectacular when you risk becoming part of it. Of course, we didn't have the insane gas prices, back then. So, no one thought of going down to Gardnerville to save a couple cents. Nor, did you need to be a millionaire to live/work in that area. I miss those days.
ОтветитьI find it totally refreshing to see open Ranch/farm land. As opposed to being plowed under for tract houses and Walmarts
ОтветитьHey Kyle, I am grandpa myself here in the central valley. Do you still live in the central valley? if so I would love to ride with you on a trip. I even have a new car, if you wanted to drive my car to shoot the video, this old man would be pleased. Not that it matters, but I turn 72 in 13 days.
ОтветитьThanks for another great video. Brings back memories of cycling up the Kingsbury Grade to South Lake Tahoe as part of the coast-to-coast cycling trip I did years ago.
ОтветитьI remember in 1979 my sister got married in Minden. The groom's father told us a shortcut was Kingsbury Grade, so I drove up the hill. When I got to Daggett Summit I started seeing houses and wondered who would want to make that drive to get home? A couple miles later I was in South Lake Tahoe. I realized then that the road really was a shortcut. Back then, I recall, I think it was NV 19.
ОтветитьMy wife and I went up that route just after the 4th July, from Orange County via the 395 and Gardnerville.
ОтветитьWow!😎😎😎
ОтветитьRaised in South Lake Tahoe and my sister lived in Gardnerville. This was mid 60's to mid 70's. Been a long time but went over that road more times than I can count. Back when it was route 19 and was single lanes with speed bumps in some sections!!
ОтветитьThis was the route I took coming back from Tahoe City several years ago. I'm not going to say this is a easier way to get out of Tahoe, but there's a lot less traffic this way as opposed to the 50 & 80 combined.
ОтветитьNice video, Kyle. Doesn't take long, it seems, to go from the Sierras to the East side with the high desert. This one likely has less traffic than 50 if headed to Carson City and points east.
By the way, there were several Bigfoot sightings along the road from the early 70s until today. So the big guy might be out at night....
I love the A G music. Not to mention the scenery
