ОтветитьPlease stop butchering their names
ОтветитьTHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INSIGHFUL PRESENTATION OF YORUBA. AS A NUYORICAN WITH SOME SANTERIA INFLUENCED BY MY AUNT i AM DEEPLY GRATEFUL. QUE VIVA CHANGO!!!!
ОтветитьMy favorite modern story with west African mythology is “skin of the sea” by Natasha Bowen
It’s a duopoly and I adore it
I appreciate you spreading the Yoruba stories. My favorite is Shango and Yemaya got upset at each other in one of their many love quarrels and between the two is them destroyed half of the world and Obatala had to come in and calm things down, and undo what they did in there anger.
ОтветитьNice video, but remember guys there is only 1 true God. The holy one of Yisrael
ОтветитьSuperb
ОтветитьI'm making a history day project on this because in school we rarely have discussed this, and its apart of my culture, so thank you, this is perfect to help me learn about how far down my culture goes.
ОтветитьOmg The pronunciation of the names is driving me crazy. I can't even listen to the information
ОтветитьSam's from West Africa
ОтветитьThe butchering of the names makes this hard to watch and begs the question of "Was there any Yoruba people involve in this production"?
ОтветитьWhile it is appreciated that spiritual practices prior to Christianity is being spoken about I do have to say the butchery of almost every deity is unnerving. Simple google searches could show you how to pronounce these names. This is NEVER acceptable in any other practices, Russians and Roman names are pronounced correctly, so please take the time to do the full research on these names
ОтветитьThank you the the page. Are we permitted to work with more then 1 Lore?
ОтветитьBeen enthralled by Joseph Campbell's stories. Just had my eyes opened to this. Looking forward to learning more
ОтветитьI would love to see more on this topic.
ОтветитьAshe/akge is how we greet in Sotho-Tswana 🇱🇸 🇿🇦 🇧🇼 🇿🇲. Ashe the energy of all things in yoruba.
Ответитьyou realize you're saying Yoruba wrong 😒
ОтветитьYoruba culture goes beyond 7000 years...
ОтветитьInteresting, but your pronunciation is off. These are names and words come from the Yoruba language (West African). Please research
ОтветитьThis video beautifully introduces the rich and fascinating world of Yoruba mythology—so informative and engaging
ОтветитьThis pronunciation of the names is killing me
ОтветитьDNA test say I'm Yoruba.
ОтветитьI don't understand how any grown intelligent critical thinking person could believe in that , it sounds exactly as a kindergarten story for 3 year old.
ОтветитьHere's whats interesting for me as a filipino.
In our mythology
Our creator was a deity named Bathala(obatala?) Within him is Diwa(odua?) That sort of counterbalance his actions like a holy spirit. A spiritual twin of sorts.
Someone needs to explain why that's similar
Did she say “wider” or” whiter” audience?
ОтветитьBeyonce and Jay-Z think they are Ohshun and Ogun?
ОтветитьNobody can replicate or even compare to any orisha they are all different beings so even popular people are nothing like Orishas of Nigeria
ОтветитьOya Ochosi Orunmila Yemaya Oshun Obatala
Ответитьvery informative! thanks for helping us with our final project type shi
ОтветитьOrishas are not gods. We understand the meaning of the word orisha (the select/elect by Ori) but we do not understand the word god.
ОтветитьSkrilla🔥
Ответитьhappy 2025 guys! im wasted! but love leraning this cool stufff!
ОтветитьOk first of all sango wasn't ever arrogant if you actually knew the story ,his earthly mom and elders told him to be careful with women, all was well until the set up of gbonka and timi fight
You see sangohas uncontrollable rage but note that he's not the type to get angry easily but when he does it's over
So like i said it was the same annoyance that led him to stay with one wife (oya) who in turn told him to be wary of timi and gbonka's power
Unfortunately sango listened too much and never made his owwn decisions, sango is a good listener but rarely takes action on his own
Oya menstruation blood fell on sangos axe which ultimately led sango lightning to go out of control 2hich led to destruction of the palace that led to his exile (he was exited because of his iron hand control of the village but because the elders who he listened to were no longer needed (because now he listens to only oya) ,so the destruction of palace was merely an advantage for the elders to get rid of sangos reign (if you can't discipline your leader. Better to impeach him/get rid of him)
So like i said his elders and earth mother told him to be careful with women but he was careless in sending both oba and osun out instead of resolving conflict 2ith them which if both wolives had been there when oya made an advice to set up timi and gbonka, they would have declined ,and also would have equally prevented the initial incident of oya menstrual blood that got in contact with sangos axe which led to destruction of the palace
😊😊😊😊
Thanks
ОтветитьI’m so sorry but the pronunciations are driving me crazy. Please, next time get someone who can pronounce at least the easier names, like Yoruba. It’s similar to Aruba: Your-uba. It was painful to my ears.

Sis You did a good job 👏🏾 them names had me in the floor laughing 🤣 but you did well ~ May You be blessed and have a long life
Great content. Terrible pronunciation. It was so bad, it was distracting and at times confusing.
ОтветитьI got a serious question 🙋🏾♂️ about the people who worship the Orisha , do they get easily offended I ask because I’m planning on making a fictional story about one of the famous Orisha before they become a Orisha I’m doing it for representation for my African American community but I’m worried because lots of religious people take their culture and religion very seriously and rightfully so but what I’m trying to make isn’t fully about the religion but borrows aspects of it and I don’t want to offend or anger any devout worshiper of the Orisha , so I’m asking anyone in the comments that might have any insight about my question .
Ответитьan interesting story
ОтветитьWho want. A pic
ОтветитьOf an orisha
ОтветитьJust kidding 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWhat’s the name of the “crown-mask” thing??
Ответитьthw pronunciation borders on disrespect
