Ok it may not be a Gibson but would be so much better than the piss poor counterfeits that some Chinese backyard factories are offering. I like the chibsons I have a couple but I only use the wood lol the rest usa Gibson and most of them frets are leveled and crowned in every case

I've had many Chinese guitars on the bench, whether chibson, fender etc, most set up better than the American models, and QC is equal if not better, since China has been making guitars etc part and instruments for many many years for the world do you think they might be actually good at it by now lol, well it's obvious, I remember back in the day when Japan got this treatment now they are know as the best in the world at engineering, instruments etc, there is junk too, but Gibson make junk, expensive junk, I've had many of those on my bench too.

There more plastic than wood on that ugly guitar, made to play by an excellent luthier. There’s no fiddle Dave can’t bring back to life. Love this channel.

First and last time I watch this guy. We can’t all own “ real guitars” and he made it obvious that we are so far below him on the money scale that it’s not worth his time. I know what goes into winding transformers. Believe me nothing on any guitar is worth the price they get for so called real guitars. Really you should only buy a Chibson if you know how to work on guitars. If you know how to do the work yourself you can get a pretty nice guitar for a 10th of the cost. You can get all CTS pots for around $20, new Alnico 5 pickups around $30, copper tape $5 ... and then do a proper setup. As long as the scale is good, the wood and finish on them have been decent. Mine is mahogany with rosewood fingerboard. Shoot you can even get a new roller bridge for around $20 ... for $75 and some knowhow you can turn that into a battle axe.

IDGAS if it has a block of cheese in it. If i can mod and get it playing decent. I'm good with a guitar for $220 shipped. haha. works for me. I can do all the work myself saves $. I have all the parts and tools and it's ez work to make it a playable instrument.

The chibson may be an illegal counterfeit but I don’t know too many beginner guitar players or even accomplished musicians who can actually afford a real Gibson Standard let alone a gibson Ace Frehley Signature Custom every thing and anything that is for sale in that same price range under 300$ sold anywhere in the world is made in China PERIOD! As well as fender amps Marshall amps and Levi’s button fly 501s everything is made in China so stop complaining about some dude loving Ace Frehley like every guitar player I know and wanting to have something as close to the real thing as he or she can afford and do your job and get the damn thing running for them besides it’s not the fucking wood and metal and paint that you should give a shit about but the human being on a budget that turned to you to help make his dreams of owning and playing a a really cool guitar … oh and stop bad mouthing KISS They saved the world from the peace and love tree hugging crap of the sixties and over 50 years later are still selling out stadiums ⚡️ LIGHTNING ⚡️

I’d love to see how a Gibson would turn out if it was $150! I have a $3,200 Gibson that’s shit compared to guitars I’ve spent $500 on.

If you're not aware. A Gibson is 3 to 4k. For a name. You can order this guitar for 2 to 300. Set it up.... Swap electronics.... Tuners.... Not maybe and you have a guitar about as good. Consumers prefer lower prices.... So I mean that's why.... No one is saying it's as good as a Gibson.... But you can get close for a fraction of the price..... Maybe to you the brand name is all that matters?

Where do you measure the string height at? I've been measuring at the 12th fret because I was thinking halfway etc but then i saw something about doing it at the 13th or 14th but then I watched a video and he was measuring at the looked like 20th or 21st fret. Now I see it looks like you measured at the 13th or 14th. Is there a solid rule or is it personal preference? Also pickup height to strings? Did you say 1/8th to bass and 3/32nd to the light strings? I don't know imperial measurements but i can work it out. But is that a definite or is that a personal preference?

Do all 3 pickups work? Does it switch 3 ways each an individual pickup? I need a soft cintact box switch that does that, not blend two in the center position.
