Stuff like this is why I prefer to buy gear from smaller companies and businesses when I can. I’d rather support people who built their businesses on relationships are passionate about making good products.

Truth is no one here (including Glenn) don't know what a "cab clone" is supposed to do: to emulate a cab. Meaning....there's NO MICROPHONE involved in between the cab and your recording. All "Speaker/cab simulator" are sounding the same: Hughes&Kettner Red Box 5, Palmer PDI03, etc.
But Glenn compares the Mesa cab clone with a Rosen Digital plug-in which is a MICROPHONE IN FRONT OF A CAB simulator, and with a recording of a Mesa cab USING A MICROPHONE. There are two totally different things. It's even said in the User Manual: there's NO MICROPHONE involved in the process.
Hughes & Kettner are offering on their website, on the Red Box product page, a download link for a Shure SM57 plugin simulation to be used with their cab clone.
It's so strange when someone who claims is an audio engineer (Glenn, in this case) doesn't know the basics of recording.

I own a Triple Rectifier and have had awesome experiences with Mesa - this is fucking terrible and makes me not want to associate with Mesa.

Hey Glenn, Cab Clone does suck. I have the Mesa Boogie Triple Crown 50 watt amp and I love it. For some reason Mesa put a Cab Clone in the amps. Yikes. I just checked it out in my home studio and I have to tell you that it's not the sound I'm looking for. But, the amp overall is fantastic. 3 great channels of tone. Keep up the good work. Keep those reviews coming.

I know im late to the discussion, but maybe Mesa should take the criticism positively towards working to improve the Cab Clone and put out the next generation version that's better! But they can't have their feelings hurt in the process lol.

I know this is an old video, but fuck yes it is awesome seeing someone trying to help me not waste my fucking money! And the part I don't get is, even if id never seen this video, and bought this item, does Mesa really think id be keeping it? All these paid shill reviews people do will get them is about an extra day of me wondering if I did something wrong before bringing it back to the store! Do they honestly think that we would be like "oh well the gear gods at Mesa say its awesome, I must be doing something wrong and keep it"? Fuck that!

(Seriously, your amps are pretty bad, except for the spider valve, those were pretty good.

Leave a bad review on Yelp and they’ll delete it depending on the business. They’ll even message you telling you that your review was deleted stating that your experience was not correct. Have had this happen to me on two occasions.
Turns out that certain businesses pay more money to Yelp for that very reason. To only show positive reviews giving the false impression that that said business has a 100% positive rating.
Which makes this all untrustworthy. But word of mouth through other social media can’t be stopped. When it comes to music gear it gets around what’s good and what’s not.

Stupid approach - delete anything that could be perceived as criticism
Smart approach - fix goddamn product as suggested

Criticism although annoying can give you idea what are you doing wrong, and what can be improved, think about it as a free brainstorming session, where many different people express their ideas and opinions, not everything is useful and constructive, but it can give you general idea of your stupid product

Now that Gibsuck has bought 'em out, I would be surprised if this attitude has not worsened, and not surprised if they started releasing "new" and "innovative" heads that are just cost-reduced cosmetic re-skins of old products.

I have owned a Dual Rec since 2008, and have never been even slightly impressed with Mesa's customer support.

I can build better high gain guitar amps than Mesa Bugeye in my fucking sleep! You are gonna pay out the wazoo for a hand wired high gain guitar amp with 1 or more effects loops, 1,2,3 or 4 rectifier tubes, and or solid state bridge rectifiers, rectifier tubes strapped up with diodes & resistors, and all sorts of wizardry with none of the bean counters' bullshit compromises.

..I wonder you might do this today as well, since censorship has become daily mess ...
