I made your cornmeal mush this morning and put a little butter and maple syrup on it. I can’t wait to have it again tomorrow morning. Thank you Grandma Feral. And you too Grandpa. 😊
ОтветитьI really like this. Hope to make them soon.
ОтветитьThanks so much for sharing this with us. Which do you prefer, Spearmint or Peppermint? any major differences in taste? I hope you and Grandpa are enjoying your Summer.
ОтветитьCan you freeze them?
ОтветитьI definitely will be making this candy. Thanks Grandma
ОтветитьWow can you make other kinds of candy
ОтветитьYou can also do rose petals.
ОтветитьSo refrigerate left over because of the egg white
ОтветитьI haven't thought about this in years. If I remember correctly, there are 43 varieties of mint and your patch looks spectacular! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!!❤❤❤
ОтветитьYum! Love mint.
ОтветитьLove this idea, would be great on top of chocolate pudding or ice cream too!
ОтветитьYuuuuum they look so good !!! I want your candy but might take me a while to walk there i live in oregon lol
ОтветитьI may not have gotten any tomatoes or anything else in the ground again this year, but I sure have plenty of mint. I planted several varieties a number of years ago in the small area between the neighbor's fence and my driveway, in an effort to contain it, but it has spread and migrated nonetheless. I think my beloved black peppermint is now living entirely in my neighbor's yard, lol, while the white peppermint, pineapple mint, and chocolate mint have all been squeezed out. The more vigorous spearmint and sweet mint (neither of which I like as much) have taken over on my side of the fence. The sweet mint is a good all-around mint, though, good in drinks, watermelon salad, savory middle eastern food, and juleps (😉), and would also be good for this mint candy.
Stay cool and hydrated, Grandma and Grandpa!
I absolutely love this channel ❤ They're such darlings
Ответитьmy grandma had that kind of beater, and I have it now! I use it when making scrambled eggs.
ОтветитьYummy.
ОтветитьOne more comment: I'm glad you mentioned about how mint can settle your stomach. I recall my grandmother always kept a tiny bottle of peppermint oil, and used a drop or two (probably in water) when she had a stomach ache. This is an easy natural remedy that people today might not know about.
It still mystifies me that the (more effective) peppermint Tums have become so difficult to find, while their fruit flavored (quease-inducing) counterparts are ubiquitous on the shelves.
thanks Grandma!
you really are the best 😺
We always grow mint. I like mint tea (hot or cold). I never thought of it as candy or a treat. I'm definitely going to try it. Thank you for the recipe.
ОтветитьLooks yummy! Never heard of this kind of candy before!
ОтветитьThe sweetest Grandma and Grandpa in the world 💓💙
Thank you!
What a nice idea grandma to use some of my mint leaves. I think I’ll give it a try, thank you. What do you think of the Mets grandpa, let’s go Mets.
ОтветитьSo nice🇺🇸😸
ОтветитьThis was done with Basil for a Peaches Cardinal the cooking show "Two Fat Ladies" did in their Westminter Abbey episode, where they cooked for the Fathers there. Great receipt , as Jennifer of the TFL's would say!
ОтветитьThanks Grandma! It looks awesome! I'm sure when I try out the recipe that I wont be able to LEAF it alone! 🥰😂 Big hugs Grandma! Hi Grandpa!!!! 😁
ОтветитьYummy!!and so easy!! Thank you for another great recipe, love you Grandma and Grandpa and the Kittys❤
ОтветитьYou always find forgotten recipes that are fascinating.
Hope Lucky has given you your bags and pumpkins.
I don't know if you 2 can eat candy and what kind.
Let me know so when I go to See's Candy at the end of the month I can send you some via Lucky.
Thanks again for a very informative video! I had never heard of this before so I really appreciate you sharing this recipe!
ОтветитьGood got the yummy! 🌿😋
ОтветитьHey grandma how long have you been married to grandpa how many children and grandchildren do you have
ОтветитьThanks for the recipe! This would be a great alternative to regular store bought mints. Gonna have to try and make these soon!
ОтветитьThis looks like a fun thing to do with the grandkids! Thanks!
ОтветитьMy Mom had a Spearmint plant that grew on the side of her house. It always smelled so good. Never heard of this candy. I do like mint candy.
ОтветитьThese are delicious! I sure agree with Grandpa that children would like helping to make this candy! First time ever trying to make this candy, and it’s a winner. We only have a few spearmint plants, but spearmint is a favorite flavor for us, so we should make that spearmint patch a little bigger! I usually use the spearmint to make tea. I can 100% verify that mint is wonderful for calming an upset stomach. We get a little carried away with our tomatoes in the summer, and I can get some tummy rumbles from eating too many garden tomatoes!
ОтветитьMy grandmother made this, but she just used regular granulated sugar. She also used rose petals.
This was 60+ years ago, and her candied mint leaves are still as clear as today.
I enjoy your videos. I will remember this one forever. Thanks for sharing. 💚🙏💚
ОтветитьI haven't got any notifications 🤔 that's weird??!!
ОтветитьProbably wouldn’t try with catmint
( catnip).
Oh i love the mint! It grows like crazy 😊
ОтветитьI recommend mint leaves with peanut butter and chocolate.
ОтветитьI'm definitely making these, thank you for sharing you recipe!
ОтветитьThanks so much. Love it. Bless you
ОтветитьGreat video!!!! Thanks for this video!!!!
ОтветитьThanks I’ve had bushes of mint all over my property and I’ve only made tea with it. I feel like it gets wasted every year so I want to do stuff with it. God bless ya!
