It's strange to see such a tall actor compared with everyone else. In 1959 surely it was riskee for a girl to be dressed provocatively.....Hollywood started exploiting women long ago and look now where it's got us! bc sin always goes deeper and gets worse and worse......

Only Basil Rathbone is a better Holmes . Cushing and Lee triumph again in a fantastic version of this classic.

It's a shame this film didn't do well enough to justify more to make a series like what Hammer had hoped, Christopher Lee was wonderful in this and Peter Cushing was also fun to watch as the world's greatest detective.

A pretty good adaptation but, boy, did they turn poor Doctor Mortimer into a bit of a dick.

I love hammer horror.

My all time favourite Hamner horror as a young lad in the early 70's.. everytime I knew it was going to be on I got really excited and my fear levels built up right up to the screening usually on BBC1(before the BBC was overtaken by utter extremists and loonies) on a Friday night.

they changed so much of the story for this movie, introduced a spider, made Doctor Mortimer an asshole, Barrymore with no beard and gave Baskerville a heart condition. Stapleton relationship changed

Sir Christopher and Peter Cushing were delightful gentlemen. May it please God to send us more like them. Requescat in pacem.

I love this film but my only complaint was Christopher Lee was wasted I thought in the role of Sir Henry Baskerville.

I have just watched both Jeremy Brett and Peter Cushing. Brett is the definitive Holmes but Peter Cushing comes up only slightly behind him and in this episode he is just perfect. I cannot even decide. They are both perfection as Holmes. No one, I believe, no one can beat them. I believe I saw this film first in y life with P. Cushing, but then of course I cannot be sure. I saw so many films from my childhood onward and I really cannot remember all of them. I started to watch different film roles with the fantastic Jeremy Brett and only came upon Holmes after some time, and I immediately recognized him, that he was the one from my childhood. So, I started to watch him in the shoes of Sherlock again. I admire Cushing as Holmes here and I sadly dislike all the rest of the cast with the exception of the servant couple. I actually liked a lot more the cast in the J. Brett version. That doesn't change my opinion of this film being the best, on par with the J. Brett version. Perhaps I even like P. Cushing just this once better.

I like the way they portray fox hunters as arrogant, narcissistic, vile, evil and cruel people! In both this movie and The Plague of Zombies! Well done Hammer Films👏 Great characterisation!
