I wonder if his new skills have allowed him contribute to mathematical research? To be fair, that's the only criterion of value in academics. This fact is easily ignored cause most people think math is only about arithmetic and algebra. If he has not contributed to mathematics, then he suddenly gained special skills over the average person but is by no means a Terence Tao, a field medalist nor even a newly minted PhD graduate. It's awesome that he found a new appreciation for mathematics, but with all respect, I think this story is a bit hyped.

You want to know where things come from? You got all these questions, why don’t you try reading the bible? Since God created everything it shouldn’t be too hard to grasp. They say it’s so simple even a young child can figure it out. I don’t know about that because I was older when I came to faith. But I can promise you, all those questions you have, God can answer them. That would be interesting to watch. A Question and Answer session between you and God. I’d love to see it.

She is not the kind of person to say whether that is deep or not. It would be better to just say either OK or I know too little!

This is real ... my best friend developed a superior memory ability soon after being hospitalized with a very high 107 degree fever when he was a teenager. He can remember things from decades ago most people would forget. Before his fever he was a below average student, after it he could remember in his mind his teacher's entire lectures.

you know i honestly wonder if me having some kinda brain injury in the nicu is partly what caused me to be unbelievably good at mental math and stuff involving visual spaces. like my brain does this kinda stuff almost exactly but to a lesser scale and its not all around me, but i can do it no issue if i want
