I bought new suspension rods, put the friction grease on them, then bought the metal splined center piece with turning tool and installed. Leveled and did the re-set. Then washed a light load of clothes, did fine. Next tried a load with 3 "throws". The machine washed ok, then going into drain and spin cycle, jumped up in the air, did a 180 and landed back down. Been washing clothes for over 60 years, never had the trouble we have had with this poorly designed whirlpool. Giving this machine away and bought a speed queen. No issues now.
Ответить😮 I want to purchase a ticket, fly to you and give you a HUGE hug‼️🤗💯💓🙌🏾. Thank you. Especially since i love to do things myself and getting these parts would have taken more time. 👋🏾♥️🇹🇹.
ОтветитьWe bought a brand new Maytag thinking we were purchasing a good brand. A year ago, the hub bearing went out and paid a technician to replace. About 6 months later, it started doing the same thing but this time thank goodness we found this channel. I’ve already ordered the hub and are about to order the bearings shims to perform that part of the fix. Hopefully this will fix this issue once and for all🤞🏼 Certainly cheaper than buying another $600 piece of junk!!!!
ОтветитьWhere can I contact you as the links u have posted are not opening.
ОтветитьI have the same exact machine as you and same issue. Which suspension rods did you purchase?
ОтветитьDang, Ben...wish you lived in my town. PAYING you for your knowledge, skills, and expertise would be easily justified. Gonna try the handyman special tips and see where it takes us. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThanks for your video. I did the recalibration and it did the job. I'll keep you posted.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьDo you still recommend using the safety pin fix for the suspension rods?
ОтветитьGet rid of the dam thing
ОтветитьThank you very much. This video, and your parts, were such a tremendous help. My wife is disappointed. She wanted a new set.
ОтветитьWell done Ben!
ОтветитьLeveled and recalibrated. Problem solved. I was days from buying a new washer. Thank you thank you thank you!
ОтветитьDefinitely picked up a few new tricks from this video. I had a feeling the suspension rods in Amazon were garbage. Thanks for confirming and telling why. So few ever give a reason for their criticisms. You earned a subscription
Ответить@bensappliancesandjunk thanks so much for this video. I am currently working through all these steps on my whirlpool to see if it helps its performance.
Question: During the removal of the wash-plate my pliers punctured a couple holes in the wash-plate. Is that something you would recommend replacing, or do you think it will work fine?
Use big washers on each corner between the body and the white cone cap part that seats into the hole the hook goes so you are pulling the tub down tighter. Seems to work.
ОтветитьIt’s a deep 15/16 socket not 5/16
ОтветитьOur new (Maytag) Whirlpool washer delivered in November 24 did this from the beginning. A technician is supposed to come next week. If they tell me it’s something major I’m going to contact Costco and see if they will refund what I paid for it, if they will I’m going to buy a Speed Queen. The Maytag repairman use to be “The loneliest guy in town”. Not anymore.
ОтветитьWorked great! Saved me $175.
ОтветитьGood video, I think you mean a 15/16 socket to pound out bearing... very good though
ОтветитьJust go by yourself a speed queen commercial you’ll love it
ОтветитьMy Maytag was doing this but under the extended warranty and the repair guy came out today. Had those four rods replaced in about 15 minutes. Bang! Great tech. Never knew about those things but the machine runs a lot smoother now!!!!
ОтветитьSo Ben this new hub works for the washers with agitator as well???
ОтветитьLooking forward to trying this. I'm hoping to move this washer to our cabin but wanted to fix this issue first. You've given me a very clear idea how to proceed, thanks!
ОтветитьAwesome video!!! This is exactly what is wrong with my machine, I will be ordering parts soon. Thank you and have a good day.
ОтветитьThis is by far the BEST video that I have found regarding how to change suspension rods, and why to not by aftermarket rods from Amazon! Thank you for the detailed video!
ОтветитьBen the new suspension rods I ordered did not come with a clip where they go through the drum. Do I need one? The hub worked like a champ!
ОтветитьHi Ben, I hope you check these comments lol So I recalibrated and that didn't work so I just took out one of the suspension rods.... and the foam piece is actually stuck down into the bottom part....Any suggestions on how to get that out without damaging it? THANK YOU
ОтветитьGreat helpful tutorial video. Thank you.
ОтветитьYour video is awesome! I did find it was not my suspension rods, but the drive hub. One thing I noticed during removal (and having had to use some PB Blaster to free up the shaft) was that there was grease on the shaft, etc. Nobody's video, including yours, mentions this, and what kind of grease to replace with. Can you tell me? Can I use silicone grease, like for brake work?
ОтветитьThis video is amazing! I really appreciate you detailed explanation and look forward to completing this repair once all the parts come in!
ОтветитьDudes the Will Prowess of appliances
ОтветитьStraight junk
ОтветитьVery thankful for your video! I was able to thoroughly inspect non-OEM rods and saw they needed grease. Also took the time to PERFECTLY level the washer and then programmed it to recalibrate. This did the trick. Now I'm suspicious of our washer because its too quiet... Many, many thanks for your guide, you really covered all the bases.👍👍👍
ОтветитьExcellent video. Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat video Ben, I have a question, what is the fix when the splines on the shaft are gone, I installed the metal hub bearing, and it worked great for about a year, then started doing it again, when I tore down the washer, the metal hub was now smooth and the shaft splines are now gone. Is there a fix for the shaft splines?
ОтветитьHey Ben, when will the 100ct foam insert be available??
ОтветитьBought everything you sell for my washer. Still shakes. Is the washer shot.
ОтветитьDude I'm gonna do this...ik people getting rid of these left and right...I've got 3 myself I'm just gonna do it that didn't look too bad
ОтветитьThis video not only helped me to determine the suspension rods were bad, but also saved me from buying the cheap ones on Amazon. $110 and now my washing machine doesn’t try to run away. I was doing laundry at least daily because smaller loads helped it not shake as much. Now I can run the machine full and only do laundry every 2-3 days.
ОтветитьI replaced the bushing, but my washer still vibrates violently with a light load. I also replaced the suspension rods.
Ответитьplease help. I'm losing my mind. my washer constantly drains even though there's no water to drain. i took apart the drain thing there was no blockages. i can't reset it as the second it's plugged back in it starts running the drain again. it won't wash anything. it's a year old!!!
ОтветитьAwesome video and saved me some time and money!
ОтветитьNote to self, avoid this product.
ОтветитьThis Guy Is Definitely a Washer Machine because he Think like one
ОтветитьI have a maytag about 8 hrs old, replaced shocks and rods and the hub kit, runs like a dream and for about $50 and an hour a half, great video! Thank you.
ОтветитьVery knowledgeable. Thanks for your help.
ОтветитьMy Whirlpool was as bad as the one in the video it was absolutely horrible with the shaking. I am so very appreciative of this video and Ben’s Appliances and Junk!!!!! It has fixed my washer and like he said it’s better than when I bought it, which I did buy new. I replaced the bushing, wash plate, and greased all of the suspension springs. I could not be happier. No more banging around the wash room during the spin cycle. All I can say is thank you so much for sharing this information and the products to fix my machine. Worth every dollar.
