I freaking love love love this movie
ОтветитьThe story in the original manga is, well, kind of crazy.
ОтветитьGreat reaction to one of my favorites. It should have had more popularity.
ОтветитьSo much fun watching this again with you. It really is a great deal of fun and lot's to explore.
Since we're doing electronic dystopias again....do you think you are ready for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?
One of my favorites but it's ....a ride.
Alita: Battle Angel made about $400M with a budget of around $100M, which wasn't considered to be great. With Jim Cameron dedicating the next decade on Avatar sequels, it's highly unlikely that we'll ever get a sequel to Alita (I hope I'm wrong 🤞).
ОтветитьIs it just me or does mahersha ali in this movie look a little like mark morrison in return of the mack ?
ОтветитьAlita 2 coming, James Cameron was reported to have said.
ОтветитьThe sequel is confirmed. In April 2023, producer Jon Landau confirmed that the sequel was in active development with Rodriguez and Rosa Salazar returning as director and star, respectively. In July the same year, James Cameron reiterated that he is working on more than one sequel. Supposed release is 2026.
ОтветитьI prefer the anime over the movie. I saw this in the theater.
ОтветитьIf Disney hadn't bought Fox, we would have gotten a trilogy by now.
ОтветитьEdging? Such a dirty girl. Lol
ОтветитьI read the manga years ago, and it's worth noting the story extends far beyond the confines of Zalem and the junk heap beneath it. Alita goes many places.
Ответитьalita is epic!! i need a part 2! <3
ОтветитьDon't tell a teenager what to do? What world do we live in where teenage girls get to do WHATEVER WTF they want?? Im sure you would be more than happy to boss a teenage boy around for certain things.
ОтветитьThe way James Cameron, Jon Landau and Robert Rodriguez adapted both the Manga source and the OVA Anime into this Masterpiece is a wholly singular occurrence. This was and is THE best anime adaptation of a Manga/Anime property EVER. Though IMO Ghost in the Shell is a close second (though they did stray further from the source material).
ОтветитьHave been waiting for the sequel for years. We have Matrix 10 coming up but no Alita 2.
ОтветитьALita is based on the Manga GUNNM that came out in 9 books (comic books) and this movie is pretty just only the first book. The story of Alita is to large to be contained in just one movie. I dont even think 2 would do it. 3 would be minimum and then you would have to cut out a lot of stuff.
Ответить"I wanted so much more!"
All of us who really liked the movie had been hoping for a part II, but it never happened.
In April 2023, producer Jon Landau confirmed that the sequel was in active development with Rodriguez and Rosa Salazar returning as director and star, respectively. In July the same year, James Cameron reiterated that he is working on more than one sequel.
ОтветитьSequel when?! Sigh.
ОтветитьWhy are oranges Alita's favourite food?
Because they have appeal.
Desperately waiting for the sequel. Problem is both Cameron and Rodriguez are super busy so it may be quite a while if it ever gets made.
Ответить"Elbow freakin' deep..." 🤣🤣🤣 I'm so glad you saw this movie. You have the kind of appreciation I love to see! 🥂👏
ОтветитьI love this movie. ❤
ОтветитьWord is the Sec
quel is in the works and Duel next year !!! 2026 or end of this year...
The brain does need oxygen. but if it's the only organ you have that needs it, a lung full of air can last you a very very long time.
ОтветитьIt's okay....the sequel is coming any day now....any day.... Excuse me while I curl up into a ball.
ОтветитьI hate that you remove the image whenever you talk about it
ОтветитьOk, I was interested in this movie for years, even bought it on Amazon, but I never got around to watching it until last night. I don't understand the love. The action scenes and visuals were fantastic, obviously... But my goodness the plot was so trite! Am I missing something? Is it because I didn't grow up with this story? I found the story so bad it detracted from the visuals. I did a little reading, and I have to say the summaries of the manga seemed a lot more interesting than what we got here. It's like someone set up this super interesting world and antagonist, and then tasked a high school English class with writing the plot.
ОтветитьThe plan was to make trilogy. Sadly we still don't have even part 2. Great movie!!!
ОтветитьI think Ido has the most unwieldy weapon in the history of weapons.
ОтветитьThey don't get to pop Ed Norton as Nova and don't make the sequel asap, so cringe.
ОтветитьI am sure someone said this already but I will say it anyways. I so wanted more sequels to this as well, but James Cameron already said no. He is too busy with other projects, yet he also has not found anyone that would do it justice so he has not yet given anyone the rights to pick up where he left off. So sad.
ОтветитьI can't wait for the sequel... I have watched this movie so many times, I've lost count... FYI, I almost burst out laughing at your end scene reaction cause I feel your pain. This has to be the best worst ending ever. I love it and hate equally.
ОтветитьI didn't read the manga but I did love this movie. 🙂 Idk if the hardcore manga fans dug it or not. Sometimes fans can internet-comment a sequel to death. I want more, too.
ОтветитьOne of the promising endeavors that led to nothing....
Ответить#2 is in production. There will eventually be a #3.
Ответитьawww i remember watching this movie with my dad and he was so skeptical saying, really bro what movie is this and by the end of it he couldn’t shut up about how cool it was lmao.
ОтветитьIf you liked motorball, you’ll probably also enjoy “Rollerball” (1975). It’s a dystopian sci-fi starring James Caan {the guy who got ‘hobbled’ in “Misery”). Motorball is basically Rollerball on steroids.
ОтветитьThe manga for this is one of the things my eventual wife and I bonded over. This, Sandman, and Blade of the Immortal. This movie is book 1… of like 10. They drop some nuggets here that don’t come into play for several books. This story is SO much more than you get to see in this movie.
ОтветитьThe actor playing Zapan played Francis / Ajax in the first Deadpool movie.
The actor playing Grishka played Rohrshak in the Watchmen. He’s really short in that, so seeing his face on the giant robot body here is always surprising.
Needs a sequel
ОтветитьBattle Angel Alita In the Japanese manga series (called Gunnm), her name is "Gally." As you go through the volumes and get into her past, you'll discover that she's born on Mars, and her name is Yoko. She eventually becomes a highly trained Gezere class (war artisan) berserker for the URM that's sent to Earth on a mission 300 years ago.
ОтветитьYooo 2019 feels like two years ago but its almost 6 years
ОтветитьAn Alita sequel might still happen, but Avatar sequels are getting prioritiy.
ОтветитьYeah, 6 years fans have been waiting for the sequel. But that's...well, I won't say "nothing", compared to the 16 years I waited for this movie itself! Around 2003, I learned that James Cameron so loved the manga that he negotiated with the author/artist Yukito Kishiro to bring it to the big screen. Trust me, I was STOKED! I remember when the first translated issues hit comic shops in the 90s. The art style was rather atypical for a manga, more European influenced, at least in my biased opinion. Plus, it focused upon a cyborg. (I guess I've always been intrigued by robotic and cybernetic characters since watching "Astro Boy" in the 1960s. (I'm 63 years old.)) So, I kept my eyes peeled for any news about the project. A year went by, then 2. By that point, there was buzz about something called "Avatar" that became Cameron's passion and Alita got pushed to the back burner. More time passed and that film reached theaters. Maybe now he'd work upon Alita? Nope. His oceanic research became his focus. More years passed. I finally had given up, thinking maybe the license lapsed. So I was stunned when word stated it was finally in production. I was a tad bummed Cameron wouldn't personally direct it, but I reasoned, hey, at least it's really happening. 2019 finally rolled around and the the film hit theaters. Knowing how the live action "Ghost in the Shell" got a lot of flack for some of its "creative decisions", I was cautious about what would be done with Alita. Frankly, I was shocked how faithful the film is to the manga (and the one shot anime)! Yes, there are some differences, but all things considered, it's amazing how close to the source material it was! But, yeah, my personal "wait time" was not a mere 6 years (and counting) for the sequel, but 16 bloody years for the initial flick to get made!
ОтветитьCan't recommend the Manga enough (since the likelihood of a sequel is close enough to zero to be none). So good.
Ответитьwoah I went away for like 9 months and came back to so much growth on the channel and the updated set looks amazing! so happy for you angela! (I do kinda like the square view of the movie more, or at least make the oval a little bigger!)
Ответить
