Had my special someone. High school sweetheart. Lot of mistakes between both of us, and 10 years later, she left me as soon as we separated. She is seeing someone now and it really hurt for the first few months. I took accountability and tried to be a good person about it (since we are co-parenting in the same house). We made a contract to keep the respect and she has broken a lot of rules in it multiple times showing me she doesn't respect me anymore. My hurt, sorrow and care turned into anger and frustration and now I'm back in the dating scene feeling great to move on. Glad to not feel like shit over someone who obviously doesn't care about me like I cared about them.

I was always told I would have better luck conforming to everyone's expectations. That didn't work. Someone who was very wise said "Don't try to be someone your not. Be yourself. Always be honest. Be polite and always be respectful." I'm honest, maybe that's the problem, It could be I'm too honest. I live by the morals I grew up with. For some reason lots of people don't approve of that and find me unattractive. If I discuss my religious values and tell people how my faith in Jesus got me trough tough times I end up in a heated argument with some people. I want to attend church services but that is connected with my childhood trauma and I get scared thinking about it so I end up not going. That's a problem too. If I pick out simular clothing that makes one person attractive, well that never helped any. People would see me as some sort of weirdo. SoI go back to the clothing that is truly me and then I'm right back at the same old problem. The true me... The same old unattractive me. Maybe I'm better off single the rest of my life.
