Dude my whole neighborhood is full of weeds. Even the dads who care like me cant keep up with them. Its just our area I guess idk. Even the very best lawns its still like 15% weeds

Throwing the grass directly in the trashcan without bagging is diabolical

I’ve had great results with Kentucky bluegrass. But this passed fall I had lawn doctor aerate and this time used THEIR seed for over-seeding and now our virtually weed free lawn has a ton of chickweeds and a ton of chickweed forming blades like every 10th blade of grass has the beginnings of that and dandelions are so much more prominent this year. Minimal crabgrass though. Also have had bent grass forming. 🤦‍♂️ I don’t think it’s all from their seed, I’m not that delusional, but definitely added to it on steroids lol. Any ideas of stopping any of this in their tracks? Would be greatly appreciated. I also used pre-emergent, following the seasonal steps and sprayed the weeds, normally cut on 3.5-3.75 inches but since this spring looked unkempt, short and uneven, sprayed the weeds waited 2 days then mowed at 2” and 2.5 in area where scalping is afoot lol. Seemed to help with the chickweed and bent grass cut and debating whether or not to de thatch or maybe scarify?
I live on Long Island NY Suffolk county to be semi-precise, and I always plant seed if and wherever I pull a weed and its roots out. How to stop it in its tracks before it spread again.
