I tried to beat KotOR using NOTHING but Force powers

I prefer Immunity over Stasis for organic meat bags. Everything in KotoR has bad Will saves. It's also super cheap so alignment penalties aren't a problem.

The merchant on the walkway at WookieLand sells a belt that negates all electric damage. Helpful at the end of the game. He leaves after you kick out Czerka.

Yavin merchant gives a discount of you beat him in Pazaak 10 times. The max bet is also high so you can savescum to rinse him for significant cash.

KotoR 2 is very easy with force powers. You get much more FP, regen, and Lightning damage is uncapped. Just don't prestige. Consular is better than either caster prestige class. Or go dark side for Force Crush from Sith Lord.

This is why I loved Kotor. My brother got so pissed I kept rerunning the game.

Till I got to Dantooine at level one soldier and proudly showed off each level of Jedi - unlocking each force power I wanted instead of Soldier abilities- with the bonus of medium armor and a level up to wear Crusader Armor.

Jedi from the start is kinda dumb. It completely destroys the balance. By the time you should get your first force powers, you’re already several levels into them and therefore way over powered for 80% of the game.

So I did this challenge run 4-5 years ago but I only did it AFTER Taris when you can become a Jedi. I can’t imagine the frustration trying this run throughout Taris…

You could also just run away from Brejik and his gang in the swoop area and hide behind the corner near one of the sealed doors. Just gotta hope Brejik doesn’t chase you and Bastila beats him since she has plot armor

I did this back in the day. I called it the "Emperor run" because I ran around lightening enemies like the Emperor.

38 minute Endar Spire really set the tone for this run, awesome job overall despite the difficulty. Very impressive.

This would be a lot easier to do without mods on Kotor 2. I'm gunna try it now.

You know, I don't think I knew you could kill Bastila on the Star Forge, I've always glanced over those options without trying them.

I did exactly this on my very first playthrough (the challenge, not the mod. Although it was fine for me to use the companions, and I save-scummed Bendak with a blade). Hint: Malak was a pain in the ass, but most of the rest was of mediocre difficulty.

PS. I had another rule: No medpacs (Got healing as soon as I could), I was selling all of those to afford both of the endgame lightsaber crystals and the other variants of endgame gear (even that which I wasn't using, like str equipment). Spent a lot of time playing Pazaak, btw did you know that eventually they all stop playing you? And that there are ways to maximize the amount of credits you can get from each one?

Valor boosted persuasion? I did NOT remember that...

The Tukata resisted you because you were using dark side force powers. You can do that, but only after you break through their resistances with something else.

Had a rule for most of my runs, I was not allowed to make Malak easier by killing the captives.

This really makes me want to play it again, but the controls are so janky. The story and the characters and the feeling of being a Jedi/Sith is amazing. But I know I will get frustrated.

I only played KotOR once the way the game intended...
Then I discovered I could avoid levelling up at all until my character became a Jedi, so I could essentially maximise my Jedi levels.
THEN I discovered that I could graft levels from one character onto another using a glitch (on the original Xbox version).
After that I only played KotOR with ALL characters as Jedi... including the droids.

If you want to challenge yourself.... try that one out.
Or better yet.... try another challenge I pulled off: Get the Light Side Ending as a Dark Side character... or vice versa.

The ADHD background on the right of the screen behind the run timer was unnecessary and insanely offputtibg. Please remove it in future videos. Made me quit watching 12 mins into an otherwise great video challenge concept. What a shame.

How about a run with no Force powers? "What a crazy dream about magic, ANYWAY, time to get back to my space pirate lifestyle."

There is literally no way to do this because you don't get any Force Powers until second planet so it's literally impossible unless you're willing to mod in which case you're cheating the game because it's not actually possible to do it in vanilla

Doesn't Bendak Starkiller give Dark Side points?

I have a question related to KOTOR 1 specifically. How do you think each form of lightsaber combat compares to each other?
I remember going through on 2 different playthroughs with one dueling and one with two weapon fighting with a pair of "regular" lightsabers and dueling wrecked the game, but my testing was... Not exactly accurate or repeatable. I always thought dueling was the best, but I do wonder how each, (dueling, two weapon 1+1, two weapon 1+.5, two weapon double sided) compare. Is that something you would be willing to try out?
