Account 1 - CIT Bank Saving Connect Account — 4.00%
https://www.roadmapmoney.com/go/CITSavingsConnect
This account is currently paying out 4.00% and is the one I used last year when saving for a house. In 2023 I earned $585.87, and in 2024 I earned $658.09 before I emptied the account to buy a home in July.
CIT Bank is an online bank owned by First Citizens, the same bank that bailed out Silicon Valley Bank when it collapsed in 2023. It’s FDIC insurance, super safe, and has a stupid simple mobile app. While the rates aren’t the highest on the list, you only need to deposit $100 to open an account and don’t have to jump through any other hoops to earn the high interest rate.
** Account 2 - Western Alliance — 4.40% APY **
https://www.roadmapmoney.com/WesternAlliance
Western Alliance is where I’m moving my savings right now. They’re a reputable online bank with a higher rate than most other savings accounts—plus you only need $1 to open an account. There’s no hidden fees or direct deposit requirements to get the highest rate (like some other banks require).
Western Alliance is available with this high rate through Raisin, an online banking marketplace that negotiates better rates and eliminates fees to users. You can sign up for an account, choose Western Alliance, and start earning interest daily.
Account 3 - mph.bank — 4.45%
https://www.roadmapmoney.com/raisin
Mph.bank (stands for “Make People Happy”) is a smaller online bank with some creative checking accounts—but also offers 4.45% APY on all deposits through Raisin, with only $1 needed to open an account. There’s no hidden fees, transfer limits, or other hoops you need to jump through.
MPH is an online brand of Liberty Savings Bank and accounts are FDIC-insured through Liberty as well. It’s a simple account with a high rate—not a bad choice to park some cash.
Account 4 - Laurel Road Savings — 4.15% APY
https://www.laurelroad.com/high-yield-savings-account/
Laurel Road is an online lender that now has a solid high-yield savings account offer, paying out 4.15% on all deposits. The account is FDIC-insured by a big national bank, Key Bank, so your money is safe and secure.
Laurel Road also offers a host of loan products, like student loan refinancing, mortgages, and personal loans. And their savings account has no fees or minimums, making it easy to sign up, deposit, and earn.
Account 5 - Bask Bank — 4.50% APY
https://www.baskbank.com/products/interest-savings-account
Bask Bank is an online bank offered by Texas Capital Bank (see, another regional bank) with a solid 4.50% APY on all deposits. Bask Bank is better known for their mileage account that allows you to earn American Airline miles for keeping your money in the account. You can earn 2 AA miles for every $1 you leave in the account for a year.
But the regular high-yield savings offering is solid, with FDIC insurance and no minimum deposit. Just keep an eye on the rates over time.
Account 6 - Peak Bank High-Yield Savings — 4.75% APY
https://www.peak.bank/peak-bank/savings
Peak Bank is a division of Idaho First Bank, and offers an eye-popping 4.75% for just a $100 minimum deposit. And you might be thinking “why isn’t this at the top of the list…”
A couple of things:
- This bank is a digital arm of a smaller regional bank with terrible rates
- The account is managed through Idaho First app
- Idaho First limits access to saving accounts, and charges $10 per transfer if you transfer money from an account out of Idaho First more than 6 times per month
And while Peak bank doesn’t say they’ll charge excess transfer fees—they also don’t say they won’t. If you’re not worried about those things, you can open an account, deposit your money and earn a cool 4.75% APY for now. Just keep an eye on things.
Account 7 - LendingClub LevelUp Savings — 3.75% to 4.75% APY
https://www.lendingclub.com/personal-savings/high-yield-savings
LendingClub is an online lender that now offers a solid high-yield savings account paying out 3.75% on all deposits. But with the LevelUp account, if you deposit at least $250 into the account in the previous month, you’ll get a boost to 4.75% —which is one of the better rates available. This can be a great option if you plan on setting up auto transfers to your savings each month.
