I am leaving pageants and here's why

I heard the M.U. 2016 after party is wild and crazy big, which I don't see anymore in recent M.U

Long time pageant fan here, and I totally agree. The pageant industry, especially MU, MGI & Miss USA have degraded dramatically over the past few years as a result of poor leaders/ownership. Core values of pageantry has changed and too much emphasis on sales and social media following with controversies galore that were managed very poorly. So yes, about to tune out completely after 50+ years of watching until something changes.

Okay first of all- Sieraaaa missed you so much!!!

Second, pageantry is so fucked up nowadays that I myself have lost interest. Honestly really sad… and as a Filipino it’s been such a big part of my childhood, especially with Pia and Catriona winning. So I completely understand and don’t even blame you that you’ve lost interest in pageantry as a whole too.

Greed and money has singlehandedly ruined this industry. It was unfortunately bound to happen once Paula officially stepped away. That honestly should’ve been a wake up call about where this current Miss Universe organization was heading.

I also never forgot about the stuff you said you experienced in Miss Supra and Miss Universe Canada so I’ve always been hesitant about this new organization once I saw the same people be involved in it now. MGI has also been a mess of its own and it’s just unfortunate as well that the Philippines is dragged into it because CJ is the one who stepped up after Rachel left.

Filipino fans have been battling MGI since they body shamed Catriona in 2018 and nobody backed us up… just a shame it took everyone else almost 7 years to finally see what we’ve been saying.

Third and finally… LILY IS 6??? Omfg?! Where has time went!!! I was literally 14/15 when I was watching your vlogs about Miss Universe 2016 and 2018… and now I’m graduating university in a few days. This is actually crazy. She is as beautiful as you!! Omggg ❤❤

This pretty much sums up my absence as well and mine comes from both sides the pageant blogger and the director side. 💔 Pageantry has lost its light in a sort. 😔

I don’t think there was anything wrong with Inclusivity (something that JKN brought to the Miss Universe scene) but the fact that they planned on using it so they can get sponsored is the wrong part. I hope it comes back to IMG.

The activities in the 2016 edition of the Miss Universe pageant looked so fun and full of culture. Sad that recent Miss Universe pre pageant activities aren’t like that. Also, it seems as though the whole empowering women/people isn’t what Miss Universe is about anymore.

When the time is right—like when JKN is no longer the owner and Miss Universe regains the magic it once had—I truly hope you return to being a pageant vlogger. We’ve always enjoyed your commentary and insights!

I remember when the new owners spoke during the new MU crown reveal, and all she talked about was that the winner of Miss Universe gets to ride on a private jet, travel countries, live in an amazing apartment, but didn't mention about influencing people for good (which was the main point of the MU Organization prior to the new owners).

Nawat and the Thai owners completely ruined the spirit and purpose of these beauty pageants. The way he publicly humiliated Rachel is Alarming. I hope all the girls r aware what they r endorsing to. The other trans woman was equall malicious. After her offscreen gossip leaks, it’s no secret that he/she is equally toxic. Their representation of Thai is deplorable.

I totally agree with you 🥲 Miss Universe just lost it's light. I miss the IMG Era where Women Empowerment was the highlight of the show.

I also noticed the "shift" everything since then was a bit off. Though I'm still watching it now, nothing excites me anymore.

Honestly pageants aren‘t exciting as they used to be. Everything is too much and predictible. I didn’t watch the last 2 Miss Universe pageants because it turned into a Ann show ! Some national pageants like Miss South Africa are more interesting than the international ones because of the quality in management, grooming, opportunities and platforms the girls get. Dearest Sierra you can still tune in for the national pageants that excite you once in a while and not completely fade them out to make a difference. This Video in it’s Self is a way to reach out to those responsible to make a difference for the better! BLESS

I used to watch miss universe as a little gay boy, and been a fan of miss congeniality growing up. The image of MU was so different back then i was always so thrilled and excited to see who’s going to win and always in awe and blown away by the women competing. I was always opinionated about MU. But yeah, unfortunately all of that is gone. I feel sorry for all of these amazing women competing now for MU just to not be valued as much. I lost interest back in 2022. I always watch Sierra’s videos and I wasn’t surprised when she stopped making MU videos anymore.

Pageants owned by Thai were no longer as glamorous like before, Miss world is like that too, it’s all about money. The only credible now is Miss international , the rest are just circus of cheap pageantry.
