This is problem of elder dems in general that they don't particularly care about the end result of what's happening, they only care about winning a very weak ideological debate. It's also ironic that he's just so dedicated to reaching across the aisle to appeal to right wingers as if they're going to save the democratic party. Plenty of republicans voted for and endorsed kamala. That didn't improve her numbers and instead of addressing all the multiple issues left voters had, she and the rest of the party chose to double down on the idea that the left killed her campaign despite numbers not aligning to that. The democratic party is shooting themselves in the foot because they call any progress "radical", any material gains whatsoever thought of as extremist. They want to be considered "the real left" without having any effectual practical difference from any moderate conservative.
