I just finished watching, after having played the game myself. Thank you for this video. It was interesting and fun seeing which choices you made along the way. I was a bit sad that you missed an alternate ending for your cat though! I kept yelling at my TV: look at the flyer on the wall! 😂 It’s nice that Moses took him in as one possible ending. Moses was my favorite.

Hey Madmorph! I firstly wanted to say that I discovered your channel only lately, through shorts, and I'm loving it so far! I love your playthroughs, your commentary that isn't invasive to the storyline of the game, but it's still funny and appropriate, your soothing and calming voice... I love everything about your videos!
Now, about what I wanted to write in this comment. Since I'm European too (Italian, to be precise), this whole "resident teacher" was strange and foreign to me... So I researched it. Here is what I found (the parts between "" are direct quotes from g**gle):
A teacher resident in college, in the US, has the role of "teaching alongside a mentor teacher before becoming the teacher of record. The residents typically begin in a supporting role and later move into the lead teacher role." In particular, art residents, are "artists who work with teachers and other leaders in educational environments to develop projects that integrate the arts" .

I really liked the game. I think safi is interesting and compelling. One of my favorites so is amanda, gwen, loretta and diamond. And seeing max again was great. She's another one of my favorites. I'm glad max is going to make a return

I think everything up to 4 was 7/10. The rest of it was just going worse and worse

Regarding Gwen's actions: it's pretty common when trying to get published to only provide a small blurb or portion of the book. its possible Gwen thought that submission was really good and worth getting published. she worked hard for it, and when Safi finally submitted the full manuscript, THAT's when Gwen read the 'incendiary content' and pulled the plug. Gwen's lines weren't very well written. i think she was supposed to come off conflicted and it didn't land

First, I love your videos and the great voices you provide! Second, I feel like one of my biggest hang ups on this game was the option that picking Chloe to live means you break up with her, which I feel like it would not happened.

What even is this game 😭😭 why does it feel like the ending was rushed?? They had 10 years and it seems like the entire ending was “how much sense can we not make here??” Safi was portrayed as our best friend that also had secrets and was a little sarcastic. But the second we learn she has powers she instantly is a villain yet we are somehow supposed to just go with it? Someone we saw on screen for like 5 minutes and have almost no connection to? The trailers made it seem like Safi was this crazy important character but she really wasn’t. We barely saw her until we found out she had powers. The whole game is about Max letting go of the past/learning from her mistakes and talking about Chloe. Even the gameplay as you said feels like a fetch quest…. Like finding everyone and taking pictures of them is the “big ending???” It’s so anticlimactic. And why did double exposure help them?? Also why the hell does diamond have powers?? She also isn’t really a likable character imo so I’m assuming her and Safi are going to be the next games villains. And why would diamond EVER go with Safi?? She’s the one who created this mess in the first place! Moses, Amanda, and Gwen are the only reason this game didn’t completely suck. Maybe it was just the choices and Amanda’s ending can be different but that was such a weird ending for them it just didn’t feel right. Also Max and Amanda don’t ever even go on an official date but Amanda was like “if it was anyone but you I probably wouldn’t want to be Lois Lane” ???? What??? Also where is Alderman? Was he permanently erased? It said helping save him or not had consequences?? What were they?? I find it super annoying that Chloe was mentioned every other second like I get that Chloe is insanely impactful story wise but it felt like it completely ruined the romance aspect of the game. It felt like they were hyping up a grand reveal of Chloe then we get some text at the end. That we don’t even respond to. I think up until we find out Safi has powers the game is good. But I don’t fully understand Safi’s motivations. Why did Lucas say “do you have any idea what you’ve done” or something like that and what did he tell Safi? That her mom cancelled her book deal?? What does that have to do with him plagiarizing Maya?? What happened to him?? Why don’t we even see him at the end? Did we just forget about all that??? Why was Gwen covering for Yasmin?? Or did Yasmin tell Gwen to get it canceled? Why did Gwen do it?? She clearly approved of the book. Why did Safi keep flip flopping between “they won’t forgive me!” And “I won’t forgive them! >:(“ she fucked everyone up… feels bad… but thinks they deserved it… shoots her mom.. tells us she’s a god and she can do “whatever she wants” she’s told and WITNESSES that it’s not that easy but is still convinced she can just do whatever willy nilly..??? It doesn’t make any sense even from a villain standpoint. And again why would we even want to save her at the point? I felt no sympathy for her by the end. She was selfish and half of her problems would’ve been fixed if she just used her words instead of throwing a life altering temper tantrum. What was her mom even “protecting her” from??? Seems like all her mom did was try and make herself look good. She covered up Maya’s death and essentially blackmailed Vinh for her own benefit to save her reputation. She says the world is cruel but it seems to me SHE is the cruel one. Even getting her book canceled was also to save her reputation so what gives?? Is that the point? Is she supposed to be pretending to be a good mom?

TL:DR the story makes very little sense and feels super rushed. It has a lot of plot holes or maybe it’s just me not making sense of it all properly.

Idk to me a lot of the characters felt like they lacked personality/depth. The story just nosedived towards the end. I think they could’ve had an amazing game with Amanda, Gwen, Moses, and even Vinh but they just took it in such a “strange” direction I want so bad for these characters to be in something else… because they are great characters but I feel like they just really missed the mark on this one.

I’ll be honest I had just bought the game when this came out and I couldn’t help myself and listened to the first part of your review I was so shocked to hear you didn’t like it, just because you’re always so cozy and positive 😅 so to hear you be so honest about how it didn’t make any impact I couldn’t believe it!
Having played it now I understand, like I had a good time not gonna lie, but tbh I’m very easily impressed and it’s very weird that I hate something, but the downgrade is real. I think what bothers me the most is that I felt they were trying to rush the story and didn’t put the best effort on the gameplay, like the exploration and interaction felt very limited, one of the best things about the other games was using the powers to help other people and on the first one you actually had to think about how much to rewind time to achieve your goal, here it just was change universes and the last episode just take a photo. I don’t know what deck nine was thinking, I know a lot of people say that since BTS and TC the magic’s been lost, I personally don’t completely agree, I loved TC and it’s definitely so much better than this, the episode with the festival it’s one of my favorite episodes in all life is strange games, the romance was also better you actually spent time with Steph and Ryan, and obviously you actually spent time with Chloe on the first one, here you went on one cute date with Amanda and never interacted again 🙁 and Vinh? Hello?
Also am I crazy? I felt it was shorter than the other ones, but maybe it’s just because the world interactions are so limited.

But anyway just wanted to say that I completely agree with your review, I do think that the magic from the first two games is gone, but hey! We have our own MCU now!! Max Caufield will return on LIS infinity war and endgame

Yeah like, this game was pretty disapointing for me. Like I understand, the story, is not about Chloe anymore, but like come on! Cant I see her at least for a second? I thought, when there were parts, where they used different voice for her, that she will be there eventually... And Diamond? Like there are probably like a few people with powers on Earth, but suddenly, there are 3 of them at the same campus? Its weird. I thought, that the end will be like: Lets find the others with powers! And that would be like the next game, they are planning.. Life is Strange assembled or something.. :D But I loved your commentary. Sometimes I was just spitting my drink from laughter about your jokes. So thank you, I could have see this game with you :))

I feel the same about the last chapter and the ending as you do, Morph. And overall, they could've done so much more with the characters and their storylines to make it compelling, in my opinion. I personally really liked the new characters, especially Safi, Vinh, and Moses. Also, the concept of jumping timelines rather than rewinding time was honestly such a great new power to introduce for Max! It felt like a natural progression from the premise of the first game, which was changing the past to create a different future, to the creation/existence of parallel timelines. I feel like it could've been much cooler if that mechanic and the gameplay overall were more complex. To me, it seemed like they had all the right components to make a great sequel, but didn't quite know how to put them together and make them work as a story.

But regardless, you made it so enjoyable to watch (as you always do) and I did really enjoy the journey with you! This has been my comfort watch over the past few days, so thank you for giving us another very cozy playthrough ❤

I wish there was multiple endings like the first one cuz I feel like all the choices dont really matter w one ending. Also safi becoming villian was so out of left field like maybe they couldve made her more mischevious somewhat unreliable character or showed signs of frustration that could build up to her becoming a villian. (that being said though I love pure villians this would be cooler if they didnt share their powers w the whole world)
