I build with alu and brass plates. Going on my 7th keyboard build. How are polycarbonate plates? Whats the difference?

I also bought this but still waiting on switches. The paint job of my case is not as good as yours. The inner corners of the bottom case have no paint and a scratch. As that being said, all those flaws are not visible after fully assembled. So, it’s not too bad, but definitely some QC issues.

Just ordered this with brass plate and kailh cream switches. Can't wait! This vid has me hyped. How long did you wait before it arrived?

I clipped the center gaskets and the side gaskets off mine and it's pretty nice to type on. Would you like to hear my board?

also, the gaskets go on the plate with this board, which is why you probably have some misalignment problems the first time, otherwise, you should be able to put the keyboard together right side up.

This is going to be my first custom keyboard after using a mx blue switch amazon keyboard for a year! Ironically I also chose Banana Splits for it! Really affirming since I lowkey have no idea what I’m doing LMAO

Everything sounds great but the spacebar sounds a little squeaky/pingy, not sure what might be causing that?

Great video! Enjoyed the entire process. When you listen to your own video during the typing/sound test does it sound that sharp in person as it does when recorded with the mic? I have a Leopold FC660M and was looking to upgrade to my first custom via the GMMK Pro but now I'm heavily leaning towards the D84 despite liking the sorta "exploded" layout of the GMMK Pro but I really don't want my wife to hate mechs more than she already does and my Leopold is pretty tame haha. (I'm doing Gateron Black Ink switches).

i built this board recently (black with acrylic version) with some boba lts, and i can attest to the creaminess! this board has a really distinct sound profile that’s kind of higher pitched yet soft, so its definitely not for everyone. i love it personally.

Curious about something: is the deck flex noticeable with the polycarbonate plate? And what's your opinion on polycarb vs alu feel-wise? I've only had alu keebs so far and am looking to switch with this one, so I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

I really wanted to get this keyboard for my endgame. Planning to use them with Gat oil king and Akko keycaps. I'm a bit worry about the pcb implementation though. Does the lack of a daughterboard and top left stiffness really noticable and affect the typing experience much?

Would you say this is better than the gmmk pro

Im worried about getting a gasket mount because ive heard itt is flexible on purpose, does it feel "mushy" when typing on a board like this or is it like a top mount?

Im looking at buying these keycaps myself, how is the wear on them, any shine or fade on the caps? I haven't used ABS in a long time and I just hear heaps of horror stories!

hey, bought a d84 after seeing this video and absolutely love it, but i was wondering, do you know how to remap keys? cant find anything online about how to do it
