EXODUS: The Next BIG RPG

i think it is time for real gameplay tho. because yes the world building seems to be really really strong i still cant really imagine what the game will really be like.

I love that exodus is leaning into the darker side of adult RPG. It’s looking like you still have the light and good vibes part so it’s not full horror dead space. Can’t wait for more

I think Mara Yama will have a similar origin to the cenobites, apostles and the god hand from berserk, or the dark eldar/Slaanesh just because of how similar they are.

Also I like how they are the demons of Exodus because it seems like the Mara Yama are a perverse representation of what celestials should be.

I have been waiting so long for a modern sci fi game. I enjoyed Andromeda, but the way they abandoned it when it had a lot of potential was disheartening. I hope exodus succeeds.

This year Veilguard, next year Exodus and hopefully ME5 is 2026

It almost seems to be good to be true, I really hope they can pull this one off, especially since it's a new studio. Though I trust the veterans that are working there.

The Mara Yama are super spooky like Doon outside of Doon imagine being morphed into some other guys and being like "Can you pass the salt, please" and they were like, "I'm sorry we don't have any salt in here, we are a large jumble of guys stuck together and everyone keeps screaming" And you'd be like damn.

This video popping up on my recommended list was the first time I heard about this game. I'm intrigued!

I'm not sure how I feel about Exodus going hard into the horror side of things but once the duology is finished I'll read it and see. It sounds almost like they've decided setting the series closer to the Warhammer 40,000 era then Mass Effect in time requires a darker tone. From what I understand they don't plan to include playable ship battles in game but I hope the novels at least have some decent ones.

Throughout my life of enjoying RPGs and wanting to see and feel the repercussions of choices I make early on in games, Exodus gives me the most hope of experiencing just that but fully and in ways that will truly be unique from other possible outcomes. I have faith that the developers will get it right and expect this to be the next gaming phenomenon akin to Baldur’s Gate 3

Tha Mara Yama gave me nice Dead Space vibes for sure :) The developers do a great job building up the general lore and history, which is always something i am there for.

This is too weird for me. An example of that is I could not make myself become interested in Dune.

ME trilogy has an eerie vibe, and Exodus is giving the same eerie vibe. I can see Exodus being really good and helping ME5 sell. My only fear is that Exodus is that good it makes ME5 look bad. Here's hoping both games are great without making the other look like a lesser version of the other.

After the release of Veilguard, I have lost all hope for Mass Effect's next entry.

Here's hoping Exodus fills that void.

These guys seem something like the Collectors, but more powerful (as in they don't crumple in an actual fight) and not just a mindless slave species.

I'm about 2/3 through the book and I've been looking everywhere for conformation when the book takes place in conjunction to the game. How/Where did you confirm it takes place after the game?

I just finished the book, where do you get the information that the book takes place after the video game? From what I can gather, Lidon is an established world controlled by humans. But there is no mention of the Rot or the Asland Traveler Dynasty. I think a legendary traveler like Orion should be mentioned by the human revolution in the Keloween system if the story takes place after the video game.

suppose the character creation and story telling with good options for dialogue choices, that do "Matter!" - as in changes due to dialogue choice and it's pre-linear with a set storyline. In that case, it'll sure be a good alternative to Mass Effect! Veilgaurd offered only the first option. Dialogue choice was never affected in the stories timeline. Exocuds will be compared to other titles like Baldur's Gate 3 for complexity!

I've also learned that Exodus will be focused on companions, since this is the focus, I'm expecting good romance dialogues, as well as Same-sex romances,

NGL the Mara Yama sound overly edgy to me, like the Reavers from Firefly

My only worry so far is the characters and concepts iv seen of possible companions .. look very face tune and not very unique but I’m curious .
