Actually this film was supposed to be set in 1959 (though filmed in 1989). The oldest these yearbook photos could possibly be is from 1900; prior to that such things were very rare. Therefore that would make those in the photos in their 70s, i.e. most of them would still be alive.
ОтветитьBeautiful..the ultimate truth of life..
ОтветитьThis is supposed to be inspiring but it's also so depressing. How extraordinary can you make your life be. All these billions of people dead. Dead forever. They don't knkw who they are in the pictures. And even if they remember you so what. And for how long.. how many people from the 9th century do we rememebr every day. 100? 50? 5? Most will say zero. Out of many nany millions. All we are is dust in the wind
So what's the point to begin with. Maybe if they achieve singularity suddenly life will be forever and it will be okay. But this. What's really the point
The greatest film scene .....of all time.
ОтветитьFuck i miss Robin
ОтветитьI love this rt here.❤
ОтветитьI revisit this scene when I feel lost and it reminds me, to keep on your path. Inevitably all trails lead to the dirt nap.
"Seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary!"
Another man destroyed by divorce and child support.
Worm food indeed.
Beautiful .i am really sorry robin ..you were amazing. Love your works
ОтветитьMasterpiece !!!
ОтветитьI think what really stands out for this film to me, is the random beautiful shots of the grounds and outdoor areas. Just a wonderfully crafted film as well.

ОтветитьBecause of this film, I first watched as a lad back in the 1980s, I have lived by this creed. I'm overjoyed to report that my life has been, indeed, extraordinary 😊
ОтветитьThis scene messed me up, in a good way I guess. Made me realize that I've been living very passively as if things won't end, hit with an avalanche of regret and realization the past few days. We all know it ends and to make the most of things, but knowing versus true understanding, feeling and realizing are different. Thank you Robin Williams, literally changing how I live from now on with a completely new perspective. Only thing is I wished I saw this sooner. Should've seen it in school.
ОтветитьI never noticed that (I believe) one of the photographs shows the year 1902. The movie was set in 1959. So, many of those guys may not have been worm food, but only in their mid 50's. But of course, the message is for us, not those boys.
ОтветитьPeople have no respect for teachers. 'Those who can't do, teach' They are treated like the failures of society and paid badly. The students are generally treated like customers and the bosses. 99% of students don't give a shxt - This is Hollywood. No? OK when you meet soemoen whos says they are a teacher, do you think - this person is one of life's winners?
ОтветитьIs tjat the fuy from house

Ответитьwatched this movie last year, truly one of the best ive ever seen. but although i was straight faced the entire gun scene, todd vomitting afterwards is what got me to start sobbing and nearly needing to leave the room!! (emetophobia)
ОтветитьEmergency medical services
ОтветитьGot your EMS
ОтветитьNow that Robin passed away, this scene hits even harder for me.😢💔
ОтветитьIt’s a harsh bitter truth, but true it is. Eventually our time expires and we take eternal rest in the dirt. But that just makes life that much more beautiful. Living life to the fullest, seizing each day while you still can.
ОтветитьI love this movie so much, and I remember this scene so vividly. I paid very close attention, and I have based my entire life around this one scene. Carpe Diem, "Seize The Day", "Because Tomorrow May Not Come." I'll be 68 years old in 17 days and I still live my life one day at a time and enjoy every moment. I don't take anything in life for granted. Tonight is movie night for me and I'm going to watch "Dead Poets Society" for the umpteenth time. I'll be enjoying my two slices of pizza and a cold Pepsi, while watching the late, great Robin Williams perform his magic. I didn't know him, but I miss him. It's movie time.
Ответить.
Ответить10 years today, I’ve done my best to live by these words. Carpe diem, seize the day. ✊
ОтветитьI love this movie
ОтветитьEthan hawke was so young
ОтветитьThe ticking clock was a brilliant way to close the scene. "Seize the Day boys." Tick tock tick tock.
ОтветитьI'm getting 40 guys, having kid, married... I can tell you... you'll still remember your years in high school, university as if it was yesterday... scary! but the difference ? You'll see more wrinckles on your friends face on FB, Insta... or the worse, is maybe, you'll find an old friend that you haven't seen him/her for 20 years... and suddenly you find him/her, and with your memories like before (you actually kept the image of your friend young in your mind) , you will say "oh shit! we're really getting older" lol
ОтветитьI honestly dont know how to Mr Williams, this message has played in my head for 8 years and i cant figure out what im meant for, although i live every day to the fullest, i enjoy the smallest moments, from conversations to walks alone to even thoughts of thinking about someone. i love every moment that i can love. But for self goals, for a career, for passaions, i dont know myself enough.
i try and try to figure it out but my mind is blank. i think i like photography, but all i have is a phone. ive tried YT but lost all motivation, im in college for someone i have no interest in but it has the highest likely success rate of living like a average US citizen
IF youre young reading this, EVERY DAY put time aside for you to think about yourself and what you love and appreciate, the time you have with people is very limited and a lot of the times they are gone before you can say goodbye, even if it becomes boring try to stay in the moment, you will thank yourself one day.
MR ZEBELLI, THANK YOU FOR CHALLENGING OUR MINDS AND GUIDING US, THANK YOU FOR EDUCATING US
ОтветитьDid you ever notice the clock in the background?
ОтветитьTemet Nosce + Memento Mori > Carpe Diem.
ОтветитьI just watched It for the first time today without knowing too much and It completely subverted my expectations. What a thought provoking and devastating last act. Brilliant performances.
