Good call on ground wire. I freaked bout. I put a wire to battery and held it in one hand. It works.

Yeah to practice at home the grounding can be a big problem. To ground I put the battery on the floor right next to me and I touch it with one foot. Best is to wear no shoes or whatever and touch it only with your socks on. Works like a charm.

plug the transducer in and make body contact with it.

I did not go straight to the battery like most ppl say do,I went under the the steering column to the power block ,red to + side ,black to - neg side ,, works fine , no extra ground wire needed,, works fine

I wish I would have found this two or three weeks ago before I sent the unit to Lowrance to fix something that wasn’t working. Called the tech at Lowrance and they tried over the phone to correct the problem. Couldn’t. Sent the unit to Low… Over $200 later I get the unit back. Low.. says the unit is working properly but it still not correct. I read the manual cover to cover. Nothing about the trans ground wire. Thanks to you, you saved my fishing trip in two weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
