That thing sounds crazy good. This one will be on my list along with the CharterOak e700!

@DuskY1991 Agree completely. This thing was a shocker. When you think about "well-priced large diaphragm tube mics" you think color, but not detail- the acoustic guitar is the true test of how incredibly well made they sound. Obviously they sound killer on traditional large diaphragm tube applications, like vocals, but hearing them shine hear proves that they are fantastic!

@Estebanfuturo There are certainly a lot of factors- room, acoustics, instrument, and also voice. We have had really great luck with these overall... some people are using them literally everywhere... but we are certainly not form the school of thought that one microphone can necessarily suit everyone's tastes. But, we've got a pretty massive collection of microphones and have not been disappointed by these on most things that we have put them on... thanks for the comment.

@offthewallstudio Actually, in this example, we panned them hard left, and hard right. If the phase alignment isn't perfect, panning less than fully won't sound great when the mics are separated like this- but we do take quite a lot of care if mic positioning, as should anyone miking an acoustic instrument in some type of spaced configuration.

@offthewallstudio Like the Ma200, the 2247 is a great mic. We would be very glad to talk to you more about both of them, and help point you in the right direction based on your playing style, your instrument, your current gear setup, and your overall approach to recording. We can definitely help you throughout the prices. If you'd like, you can follow-up with the microphone experts here, of which I'm one of, by e-mailing us at mics@soundpure(dot)com Hope to hear from you soon!

@musiccalgary That could very well be the way the player attacked the notes - the sound is the sound, the recording of the sound is what it is, in this case its pretty accurate to what the sound was in the room

Is there any chance my MA-300 is just bad, out of the box? ...I've A-B'd it with every thing I have, from AT2020's to a 57...everything blows it away...the thing is useless. I can't understand, I works, but the output is half the AT and its all kids. It also distorts without clip on the channel. I want one, I paid for one... but I really need it to actually work.

*thats all MIDS...sorry

It definitely shouldn't distort unless you've got it right in front of a very loud source. You should also be getting a full range of frequencies - not just mids out of it. With any kind of manufacturing, there's always some chance of a problem slipping through QC - Mojave will definitely be able to help you out with it. If you ordered it through us we'll take care of everything for you. Just get in touch with us through our website, and we'll help you sort it all out.

Could you please in future use one mic and only one mic on the guitar. It's a bit misleading when there are 2 going. Most people want to buy one good mic or do not want to multi mic. When there are 2 mics in kinda changes the whole thing. We are not demoing a mic we are now demoing a pair of mics and panning and phase and other things. Can we just hear "THE MIC".
