After seeing that arm, I'm experienced enough to know Ritchie Edwards is definitely dead.
ОтветитьSorry....fucking idiot....overrated and a fraud. The Sid Vicious of the 90's.
ОтветитьCommunist, over 100 million killed. Can you imagine an openly Nazi band. Just shows where the power is, not in the hands of white Christians
ОтветитьTalk about delusions of grandeur.
ОтветитьFavourite band 🏴
ОтветитьChilling but heartwarming x
ОтветитьSo grateful to my parents for getting us into these guys. I've seen them live several times and they always kill it ❤
ОтветитьI remember the first time watching this. When they were talking about his mental state and disappearance with the intense humming of evil playing in the background it was like - woah. The only time I felt unerved like that was when I heard in utero.Theres one bit that wasn't here Nicky wire commented that he thought the humanity had gone out of him.Never forgotten that comment.
Ответитьnot the biggest fan of this band, in some ways i find them unhealthy but i think the way richey talks about routines and human nature reducing everything in life to a routine is a very very clever observation so kudos to him for that
in some ways the rest of the band are sick though, particularly when you have nicky wire glorifying richey cutting himself as a 'statement'
It's heartbreaking
I have seen that your core elements come to life. It's painful and sad that we didn't fight for the rights we had.....
special band. beautiful documentary. thanks for uploading
ОтветитьSo which one topped him ,he never ran away,,look again x
Ответитьsomehow there is something so life-affirming about nicky-- even if he doesnt mean there to be, that's what i get from watching him. and his love for richey is a beautiful, beautiful thing.
Ответитьthis always makes me cry.
ОтветитьI saw the Manics in 2001 at Reading Festival and in Cardiff 3 days later. Brilliant band.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this, ‘Everything Must Go’ was a big inspiration for me when I first picked up the guitar.
ОтветитьI wish they would re-release their work, particularly now. It is still very relevant.
ОтветитьHoly bible is probably the best album ever written
ОтветитьNever got into band didn't get it all a bit middle of the road
ОтветитьAnd this documentary about The Manics does indeed contain some disturbing scenes.
It's content about Richie Edawrds and hos arm.sladjing incident is edited and I do think the sight of Steve Lamaque is disturbing enough for anyone viewing !!
Ofcourse you're warned of this at beginning on this detailed documentary to press confirm or avoid the sight of Lamaque banging on about the carpet with blood on it as Richie self harmed to point of afformentioned carpet being spilled on with contents of Richie's vein stuff??
Yes I'm joking with love from H.XXXX❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢😅😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
richey was obviously struggling with the dark knight ,God bless him ,i hope hes still on our beautiful flat plane xx
Ответить"FOR REAL "
ОтветитьSlane Castle is actually in a village called Slane, a Village in Meath about 50 minutes drive outside Dublin. Anyway it doesn't matter really but I thought I'd mention it.
ОтветитьAhhh 😢 X
ОтветитьThis must be the definitive MSP documentary, no? 👏
ОтветитьYou know what, I first discovered this band just a few months ago, and as a huge fan of rock music, I'm still very surprised at myself that I've never even heard of manic street preachers up until this past June.
ОтветитьI grew up in Oxford - not the posh bit, the other bit. The biggest employer was the Cowley car plant that saw thousands upon thousands of layoffs 1974 - 1998 under Rover, British Aerospace then BMW. Cowley and neighbouring Blackbird Leys had some of the highest unemployment in the country, including my first girlfriend's dad. And just now I discover that another Rover plant suffered the same fate - in Llanelli, Wales. I was barely a teenager but I remember how the Manics gave voice to this rage and suffering, but with a sense of devil-may-care, he-who-dares bravado. All we want from you are the kicks you've given us, free market capitalism.
Ответить"The Holy Bible is now regarded as one of the darkest albums in the history of rock and roll".
Shame it's such middle of the road moderate rock tinny production underwhelmer.
Maggie Thatcher closing the mines, without putting plans in place to help all the miners who were going to lose all their income, was a heartless and despicable act. With coal, there wouldn't have been an Industrial Revolution in Britain, and all those fat cats in parliament wouldn't have had a pot to piss in. So, instead of honouring all the hard work, all the risks the miners took, all the terrible toll inhaling coal dust did to their health, and all the thousands of deaths caused by cave-ins, gas and explosion, Maggie just treated human beings with such a proud and productive history as if they were disposable and threw them and their families and communities on the scrap heap. She could have set up training schemes, and invited other companies to come to Wales to create jobs for them with financial incentives, but she didn't do anything like that. She basically shit all over all the hard work and deaths the coal mining community had suffered in order to make more money for those in power and treated people like trash. Then she's surprised their started rioting!
ОтветитьIt seemed to me in hindsight that richie was just so utterly disillusioned with everything he aspired to be that it had a really troubling and traumatic effect on him? Similar to kurt cobain in that respect. I hate to use the word "triggered" but it definitely unlocked something within him that slowly eat away until he couldn't no longer bare. I think he saw music as a salvation but instead became yet another grind and obstacle. Music should not be anything but a joyful experience but the powers that be will always destroy the most delicate of souls.
ОтветитьI suspect he was frustrated about his musical contribution vs JDB and using h in part to mask his insecurity. It got too much and he opted to check out. He should have just walked away and tried to get help but it was likely done on impulse. The Cobain suicide may have influenced his decision.
ОтветитьNicky wire: "I don't care about your honour" 😂😂
ОтветитьDont watch this or listen to thier music or else theyll all blame you gor thinking. Theyre all hooked on apathy and sympathy thats broken and in retrograde reform.
Ответитьit's 2024 and I am still waiting for Steve Lamaq to make a better record than any of the ones he slagged off...little posh rat
ОтветитьHe was seriously ill.
ОтветитьThey are still going. Fair play to them.
Ответить7 times I saw the manics and once saw James Dean Bradfield on the Great Western Tour in Dundee. Fucking amazing
ОтветитьWith my own mental illness with long history of medical treatment, the mere two months Richey had who have suffered ten years of severe symptoms might never be enough to cure to me. I wish he is somewhere safe and content. He often said that after some success, he'd leave everything behind with Manics, then live by the coast or work in a factory and such, but isn't realistic. Why nobody ever suspect Richey might have been killed by somebody?
It was only Wire who said that was a most scary possibility what might happened to Richey. But police made lots of mistakes on his investigation and didn't take the case seriously his sister mentioned and is angry. I don't mean to upset anyone or being disrespectful. I totally wish his safety and freedom, as I admire and wish everything Richey ever wants and deserves. He might have committed suicide but he believed in Christianity before disappearance. Or catatonic mental breakdown then he could have been found. Marilyn, Lennon and Kurt that Richey admired or mentioned were likely victims all killed by conspirators the powerful evil people thought him criticising and politically attacking more than annoying. Professional killers can hide bodies and could get away with it. Richey wrote everything is for sale, people, lives and (murder) can be bought by money. Oh I pray to God every day and night for his safety and God may grant justice and truth for us, Richey and all of us who love and care for humanity, and all the silent victims will rise.
What a great singer James is.
ОтветитьA former girlfriend introduced me to this band and told me about the disappearance of one of the band members, although she didn't know which one. Then I started listening to their albums Generation Terrorists, Gold Against The Soul, The Holy Bible and Everything Must Go. (I actually loved Gold Against The Soul a lot more than The Holy Bible) Then I found out that the missing band member was Richey Edwards, this documentary was quite heartbreaking to watch especially seeing the downward spiral that Richey was going through.
I personally think that the BBC should reshow this documentary on the 1st February 2025, because don't forget this year marks the 30th anniversary of Richey Edwards disappearance. He disappeared on the 1st February 1995.
One of the saddest stories in pop history, an absolutely brilliant band, it would be nice if the manics got some closure on what really happened to Richie Edward 🏴🏴
ОтветитьNicky wire is a great human being
He cares
Lamacq is a dirty old sod. The 1990's Dave lee Travis
ОтветитьThe holy bible is an incredible album and the man who really shines on it is JDB. How he took Edwards un melodic unmetered words and twisted them into melodies and songs, recorded them, remembered them and them played them live is utterly incredible. An amazing musician.
Ответитьwas that house or am i trippin for real?
ОтветитьGod I wish there were bands like this now...
ОтветитьGreat documentary. Thank you for sharing.
