For me JJK as a whole is 8/10

The ending was mediocre, lacked focus, wasted time on menial BS, and just flat out didn't address a lot of stuff. With that said, lots of ppl exaggerate when they say "the ending ruined the story". The story was just like this for a while and it only became a problem when we found out there wouldn't be more material to help alleviate the flaws. I've always felt the core themes, fights and characters helped carry the series. The problem is that I expected more from the story since Gege would drop cool concepts all the time but then not do anything with them. So there is some form of dissatisfaction knowing the story isn't as deep as I had wanted it to be. All in all though, I enjoyed it for what it was and the ending can't take that away.

the problem with Sukuna is that when it came down to it Gege could not MAKE sukuna seem like that guy, the binding vows left and right, the "he's holding back" 99.9% of the time he's ever in a fight becuz he looked poor as hell during said fight so gege had to constantly tell not show. Which is also the pinnacle of how he had to off screen gojo, becuz tell tell tell never actually show him backing up he's the strongest. He NEVER felt the strongest becuz he moved like he wasn't, from needing mahoraga to stand a chance to binding vow of power system breaking justice fumbling him through the notorious gauntlet of his.

A king with no backstory to justify why he's anything work talking about besides a trust fund baby needing megumi's technique to even stand a chance against the new sorcerers. Sukuna all of a sudden 180 on the LAST chapter when the rest of the story was him not even HINTING at changing his ideals or having even a tiny bit of self-thought enough to even contemplate his view change here. How did we go from the other chapter PRAISING sukuna for not changing his stance and still talking crap to yuji to now ooh this is great, this does not make sense. Either he was liked becuz he stood on business even in death or he's liked becuz he saw a new light... which is DUMB, u can't have both here becuz both of those options cannot be positives at the same time. This sukuna ending made it seem like a waste of time for everyone in the story just for him to be like "hehe i'm gonna try a different path" bruh

I’m not seeing it… I never took this ending seriously in the first place. Gege is the typa of guy to come out w/ Jjk :prologue after stories as a set of chapters. I'm leaning toward full-on continuation eventually.

I'd give it about a 6 - 7.5 overall.

It had a few good arcs (Junpei, Hidden Inventory, and of course Shibuya) with the whole final part of the final arc dragging the score down by a point for me.

Overall a pretty average to above average shounen, wound up backtracking on it's selling point of being dark, and making a lot of weird choices, but for his first big breakout manga (not his first manga ever) I'd say Gege did a good job.

Compared to One Piece (since this is primarily a OP channel) 270-ish chapters would place this around Skypiea, and taking the previous arcs into consideration I'd say it'd be about even in terms of enjoyment minus the ending part (with One Piece probably getting an 7 or 8 up to that point) though JJK had lower lows and I'd say higher highs (Enes Lobby, and Marineford would have been a higher high if it was up to that point).

Based on the potential it had as the most popular animanga at certain points it was bad

IMO better then naruto bleach and hxh. Yuji was actually interesting and had a good char arc compared to those boring mcs and actually had good dynamics with his main villian. This ending was very fitting given the themes of the story

Sukuna and Gojo carry jjk

7/10 overall for me.

The story could've had a lot more substance, especially with the characters. And there were so many things that could have been fleshed out/explored more. But the fights were entertaining enough to make this an overall positive experience for me.

It was a solid 8.5/10 until the culling game started. Gege pulling out flashbacks to explain bs every chapter and summoning characters out of their ass like it was nothing. I think I stopped caring around 170. I would dare to say, the first half was good out of sheer luck.

6.5/10 - fights and power system were the best things about the series. A lot of lore, backstory, and fleshing out of the cast was definitely necessary

How is Maki not the main female lead?

She has been a primary focus. For instance, she had a whole arc focused on her (zenin massacre). She was the focus of the final colony during the culling games fights (pre-214). She was also a main combatant in the Sukuna gauntlet.

Maki is far more involved than Kugisaki and receives far more focus. At minimum, Maki received more attention, or at least more screen time, than characters like Hakari.

Gege made the same and even bigger mistakes than Kubo. At least Kubo later cared to fill in the gaps with his involvement in the new anime , Gege couldn’t care less and others may have to salvage the series with the anime or manga continuation by another author/team. I’ll won’t be reading or watching any of it tho, JJK wasn’t worth waiting for years.
