Once a professional footballer, Charles` world collapsed when an injury ended his sporting career. He then became a comedian, but the stress of balancing this simultaneously with a number of other jobs took a toll on his mental health and led to a nervous breakdown.

Now retired from show business, he runs a charity to support mental health, and has had the privilege of speaking too many – including Mike Tyson and Muhammed Ali – of the reality of God.
