Thunderbolts LOST MONEY, Latest in String of MCU Failures | Is This a Bad Sign for Fantastic Four?

Given the breadth and depth of the Marvel catalogue, I honestly thought that the MCU had decades of potential.Unfortunately, with the dismissal of Ike Perlmutter's creative committee that kept everything tied together to produce the Infinity Saga, it now feels like the whole MCU thing is sooooo last decade

Thunderbolts was an ugly film led by a mediocre cast playing second string superheros. Disney still hasn't figured out that the Infinity Saga was the exception that proves the rule. Marvel is right back where they were before Disney spent $4B+ to acquire them.

I was only a casual Marvel fan and I've completely tuned out. Doomsday & Secret Wars will be just as bad as anything we've seen from Marvel in the past 6 years. These films are being made out of desperation and little more. Marvel is over, but no one's told Disney.

Disney would need to completely surrender. Except all blame, publicly. And spend 20 years making maculin action movies, and family friendly movies, with zero girl boss, d e i, diversity focus of any kind, or anything else even perceptibly w o k e.
All that just to get back to where they were in 2005 before Iron Man.

I used to buy advance tickets for the Thursday 6pm screening for every MCU movie. Took the day off work for Endgame. I haven’t bought F4 tickets and I never will.

I feel Marvel has run it's course. There is no need to continue the universe. I think they should start another universe and lead into Secret Wars or whatever. Having to continue a universe for 20 years will not work.

If they had made a movie that even looked good, and just leaned into Marvel Rivals Fantastic 4... they probably could have got this movie to do well but they've ignored the only medium in which the Fantastic 4 has been popular in the last twenty years and with their supposed target audience. They earned this L.

Disney underestimated the resentment that having their woke preaching forced down people's throat would cause. Now, most folks won't tolerate a hint of it from them. They can't just change course and dial things back. It would take more drastic changes and a swallowing of pride, which I don't see them doing. I'm still holding a grudge that goes as far back as The Last Jedi, and I'm certainly not alone in that.

I won't lose any sleep if the house of mouse goes out of business and has to close it's doors.

Thunderbolts was painfully mediocre.. There was nothing great about it. Suicide squad 2 was 10x better than Thunderbolts. It was more like a 2 hours long therapy session for the patients of depression.

TBBT pushed nerd culture unrealidticly high, and now is in normal place. Studios should accept that and adjust movue budgets accordingly

these things always get great reviews. it reminds me of the constant articles i see almost daily on my yahoo! homepage, 'popular restaurant closing all their locations.' if it's a popular place, it wouldn't be going out of business; if it was a great movie, people would go see it.

The Fantastic Four box office projections are very confusing. Predicting north of $150m opening weekend now, when I was expecting around half of that.

Tunderbolts was fine, not great, but fine. It wasn't woke and didn't have a girl boss. The worst part for me was the forced comedy of the Red Guardian. Other than that it was much better than the current woke slop coming out of Hollywood. If it had a realistic budget of 75-100 million it would have been ok. It was never going to be a huge movie and pretending that it would be was the problem.

For me the trailer looked meh. Just another churned out cookie cutter money grab. No charisma to carry the movie. That aside, i was also turned off by their headliner David Harbour because of political comments he made that came across as toxic. He made me dislike him as a person. Now i can't watch him in a movie without seeing the actor instead of the character. Shame how many actors have done this to themselves since 2020.

Those statements just prove they don't get it. The fans didn't ask for an all white team, we just asked to stop race and gender swaping. Also they still forced dei in there by ensureing the team was lead by a woman. This isnt a problem either when it makes sense. Storm for instance is a good leader. But they have blamed us fans for so much for so long. I for one do not give a tinkers damn anymore about marvel. And there is nothing they can do at this point to win me back short of decoupling from disney and hiring an entirely new staff from ground up.

Superman is not an accurate scale. DC on film has been a total shit show and the rumors around the new movie is that it's cluttered shit. The fans already hate them for Cavill and WB is going bankrupt. One shit movie is not a marker for the next. Both came from some asshole

We are getting tired of having a great movie in the MCU and then getting 2 or 3 duds and after that finally getting an ok movie.. this pattern has been repeated since Infinity War. (The last great MCU movie) I can already tell you that the FF movie is going to bomb big time and the new Avengers movie I believe will follow The FF movie and bomb as well. I truly believe the only way the MCU can survive is for disney to sell it before it becomes beyond hope like Lucasfilm.
