What I could give to play here
ОтветитьI've played chess for more than 30 years and have been to NYC a few times, and I can't believe I never visited this place. It's a dream of mine now to spend an afternoon there some day.
ОтветитьI wonder if the store survived COVID. I hope it did.
Ответитьhe looks like Kasparov
ОтветитьI hope the owner knows he’s a hero. Imagine having that kind of impact that he has on ppls life. Amazing
ОтветитьWonderful
ОтветитьHear what the gentleman says the next Bobby Fischer.

ОтветитьVery well done. Very strong.
I can only hope this place continues to survive and do well.
It's not very often that you can find places so deeply dedicated to what they do.
Dude made me think over life for wanting to see a chess shop in nyc
ОтветитьHe is not just wise, he is a poet
ОтветитьImad the best!!
ОтветитьAs someone who works graveyard shifts, that ending monologue is absolute poetry.
ОтветитьWhat a great short film, many thanks to the director and this man.
ОтветитьMy first ever chess sets I got it from here ! The owner and the workers are very nice 👍
ОтветитьMet imad at a street vendor getting breakfast. He knew everyone and was buying breakfast for people including my wife and myself. We then struck up a conversation on the history of nyc and he was giving us a lil tour guide before we had to go to the museum of ice cream. the man was very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. A very interesting man that i feel like i could talk to for hours. He ended up giving my wife and I $200 just to use while we were visiting NYC. We were very reluctant on taking it but he insisted and It was a big shock. If you ever see him around don’t be shy to say hi to him. Very good man and an overall amazing human being.
ОтветитьFantastic video I absolutely loved it.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow! I need something like this where I live in Berlin, Germany. I play chess, sometimes over the internet, sometimes against my chess computer and not at all often enough against an opponent in the flesh, which is my preferred way of playing. And yes, we have chess clubs here, but joining a club just to play chess? Not really my thing.
ОтветитьMashaAllah love this video one day I hope to visit this place InshaAllah.
ОтветитьSweet dude, sweet video.
ОтветитьLove this shop, I hope to god it stays open for decades to come.
ОтветитьChess is soo boring the only thebu do is move.
ОтветитьI bought my very chess set from here. A French Stauntan Lardy set with 3.25 inch king /sheeshan and box wood wih a folding chess board 1995
ОтветитьIncredible video. A mandatory visit when I travel to New York next.

ОтветитьIman is a legendary branch on the tree of chess.
ОтветитьSo garry kasparovs brother has a chess shop
ОтветитьI bet this place smells like old books, wood and coffee. That sounds delightful.
ОтветитьPoetic, Iconic, Nostalgic, world class hospitality

ОтветитьI wanna visit
ОтветитьShut up I’m not crying I just have some dust in my eye
Ответить“Maybe in my younger years I would have found this person pathetic and pitiful.” Good god 💔. He was cut short saying about life breaking you. I’d love to hear the next bit. It does indeed. But things like this keep us going. And keep us together. This is great.
ОтветитьHis description of the night was beautifully poetic. Although I play chess badly, and I am seldom in NYC, I would very much like to meet the King of the Night.
ОтветитьWatched his video in chess base India now this popped up, this man is a genius, you should listen to him not only for chess but for life
Ответитьdamn. never expected Garry Kasparov as a chess shop owner 😂
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if he has a shop online or somewhere to leave a donation to support the shop?
