Suspension bridge in Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan Province

The Aizhai Extra Large Suspension Bridge is located in Aizhai Town, Jishou City , Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture , Hunan Province . It is a key project of the Jishou- Chadong section of the Baomao Expressway , a trunk line of China's national expressway network . It spans the Dehang Gorge with a main span of 1,176 meters, making it the world's largest steel truss suspension bridge across a gorge . The bridge deck is 24.5 meters wide, with four lanes in both directions, and the bridge deck is 355 meters above the bottom of the gorge. Construction began in October 2007 and was completed and opened to traffic on March 31, 2012.

CONSTRUCTION PROCESS;
The project started in October 2007. On August 20, 2011, the steel trusses were connected and the main structure of the bridge was completed . The bridge was completed and opened to traffic on March 31, 2012.

矮寨特大悬索桥，位于湖南省湘西土家族苗族自治州吉首市矮寨镇，是中国国家高速公路网主干线包茂高速公路吉首－茶峒段的关键工程，跨越德夯峡谷，主跨跨径1176米，是世界上峡谷跨径最大的钢桁梁悬索桥。桥面宽度为24.5米，双向四车道，桥面距峡谷底部高度为355米。于2007年10月开工建设，2012年3月31日建成通车。
