I bought these shanks from Universal Shank Company in St. Louis. I've always bought from them but the last time I ordered it seemed that they didn't want to sell in small quantities anymore. I'm not sure what I'll do when I run out of what I have.

Nice boots and that answers a question I had about shanks. Your daughter is a doll, I tell you what! Hope that's not incorrect to say in this day and age...

Im slowly becoming a Bespoke boot maker (not western boots, im sorry but victorian work boots) and you have been not only my biggest inspiration but maybe my most important teacher.... your ways to simplify otherwise complicated processes and your positive attitude make your videos refreshing and pleasant to follow..... THANKS a lot for kindly sharing your hard earned knowledge.

The planishing end might make it easier to bend the metal, rather than the flat end, with a lighter stoke as well. If you try it, the line of the hammer head needs to be perpendicular to the shank. Cheers.

Thank you Lisa! I’m just a hobbyist who repairs my own boots. But you have been my savior for both supplies and how to videos! Thank you so much!
