Great detailed photos - I never realized that the surface was so pock marked with asteroid craters.

I had a telescope when I was a kid. I looked at the moon quite a lot (it was the easiest thing to find, of course). This brings back some memories.

I used to have some strong binoculars and actually seeing the moon physically as it were, the craters and all that was just amazing, you feel a real connection, looking at a photograph or even a live video is not the same as actually getting the photons direct to your eye. Thanks for sharing your amazement.

By the way; I was only joking about the Apollo landings! I actually watched them all on TV, starting with Apollo 11 which I watched in the UK at 3am.
