Sonic Colors wasn't made in Godot. It utilizes Godot's graphics engine to work on modern systems better. But, the game itself was not created in the Godot engine.

The title of the video is every game engine explained but you didn’t mention frostbite?

Lua is an underrated codeing languge. I use roblox studio on rare occasion, (which is a noteable game engine) it uses lua which is good for its ability to make sprite properties easy to change. Sprite properties in lua are sort of treated as children of the sprites instead of seperate things, so it means accessing and editing them are easy. Maybe its not lua and its the just the engine of roblox studio as a whole, but i think its a bit underrated.

I just started using Gdevelop, although I'm just a beginner who knows nothing about programming or game development, I gotta say it's easy to learn and get started, I have tried to learn unreal with blueprints but the learning curve there is insane, I like it when there are things that you can figure out yourself, and Gdevelop has that, I don't know why not enough people are talking about it, maybe the community will grow in the future or it just doesn't have enough features to build a good game.

Me making games in Gdevelop, I am extremely annoyed.

Gdevelop was my first engine. I hated it so much that it inspired me to learn actual code. I now use GameMaker, but I'm considering switching to something else that uses C# or C++ because I feel it'll be more versatile in jobs :D

Man i am here still using blitzmax for my 2d battle game. haha its free now! although a bit outdated i love the fact you have to code everything yourself but it comes whit a huge library of functions and stuff basicley anything you could need. has objects and stuff so its more like using c++. then again looking at godot for my next project. i started my game project about 7 years back whit no experience in game making first two years was more figuring out how to write code then programming my game. but the project is half way there and pretty well playable. as soon as i hit online gaming i wil put out a beta, for now i keep the game itself a secret!

as a complete beginner what would you recommend i start with if i wanted to make a game similar to DRAGON QUEST BULDERS 2 ???…
i just want to make my own survival, crafting and farming game that i can play with my wife 😅

shoulda included fear and hunger in the rpg maker examples. imo a great use of the framework that breaks the boundaries when necessary
