Teslabots appear to be the usual Musk vapor ware intended to pump Tesla stock with the fanboys. As Tesla crashes and burns (literally) as a car company, Musk is just pivoting to another scam to sell stock.

In my opinion, BD's look way prettier than Tesla's, and it's because it doesn't feel like they're trying to "hide" they're robots by coloring them and covering them with a plastic-looking surface. Being able to see some of the parts that makes it function gives it a more natural robot-look (and also makes it look stronger and more stable).

They could send Atlas out now and it would out work 90% of the people I’ve seen.

Boston Dynamics began developing Atlas in 2013, while Tesla started developing its Optimus (Teslabot) in 2021. The Teslabot is light years behind Atlas and is nowhere near being autonomous. It has been over-hyped with deceptive videos presented as demo footage, when in fact the video was the result of multiple takes. Wondering, 'Will the new Atlas compete with its fellow humanoid robots like the Tesla Bot?' is like asking if the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron will compete with other cars, like the go-kart I started building in my garage 6 months ago.

They may be marketed as assistants, but eventually they will be used to replace human workers and cut workforce expenditure. Meaning there will be fewer jobs that are most in need of one...

Comparing Atlas to Optimus is like comparing a new Ferrari to a Pontiac Aztec(also known as the 1997 Cybertruck)

Oh those robots are gonna take jobs like how AI took jobs. This guy is something else.

We will see if they can invent a robot that can do agricultural work like harvesting crops. It might be more cost effective to come up with a sensible work visa or immigration plan but I think we will see crop harvesting robots before sensible immigration reform though.

All humankind should watch I, Robot the movie. Humans are not perfect, the robots we create are never going to be perfectly the way we want them, just like defected cars, computers, etc. Rule of laws regarding robots committed crimes should be in place right now, if not already. The number of criminals using robots to rob, kill, deceive, and cause harm will be in multiples of the amount of prisoners.

Atlas is a more athletic based robot. However Optimus is more meant to be a helper butler guy.

To me they are scary.

Who cares if they can move boxes? You know everybody just wants to see them go at it in the Octagon.

It can walk on uneven unstable ground
it has 27 degrees of movement in it’s hands
it’s powered by the same AI chips it uses in it’s cars
It has already been working in Teslas gigafactories for some time now…

Tesla robots are a gift. There for show not practicality. Boston Dynamics is like a 5 star Michelin restaurant. And Tesla is like a McDonald's.

So instead of teaching our youth that dull or dirty jobs still puts money in your pocket to pay the bills for you, wife, and/or your children, theyre just spend billions of dollars developing robots to take more jobs away from the people
