It’s this weird thing where people care about the story that art tells them of people suffering, more than they do about the lives of the actual people. Another example of the rich seemingly putting art above people is the met gala. Of course there is so much to say about the importance of art conservation, but seeing it happen during the whole Palestine discussing was jarring to say the least.
