On my own is so overplayed now it makes me cringe.

Lea Salonga is extremely talented as a singer.

I feel she holds her notes too long, as if she liked to hear herself. As such, it detracts from times when not holding would enhance the intent being acted, and also diminishing the closing times where a powerfully held note is essential to the moment.

Subtle but noticeable. It's not just singing a song, it's acting through it.

The song "0n my own" was written for Samantha Barks as she sings it so amazingly.

Many years ago I enjoyed a BOAC vacation package in London, which included both Phantom and Les Mis. Both were remarkable, but Les Mis was the most memorable.

I watched this like 5 times since last night bravo and the empty chairs and tables song hit home in a deep and profound way.
