Anyone who thinks supporting megachurches is "godly" is a fool. Those are businesses. Their buildings cost millions to make and get tax breaks actual businesses wish they could have. Jesus would weep to see what his followers have done to his teachings if He could see it today
ОтветитьAmazing!
ОтветитьWe have several churches with “projector pastors” near us and I can’t stand it. False prophets running churches like franchises.
Ответитьsometimes i wonder what martin luther would think of this stuff
ОтветитьSurprised there's no mention that all this takes place in a hollowed out kmart
ОтветитьAnd videos like these are why our church isn't one church like Jesus asked for it to be. Yes, it's a "joke," but it really isn't. Everyone is always complaining about megachurches and how they're this, this, and that. Small churches, from what I've seen, have their flaws too. Why? Because they're run by humans. So, unless you want everyone in the Christian community to be completely perfect like Jesus is, you're going to find flaws, and not just in megachurches.
"Oh my gosh, they use all this smoke and lights and other things, and they're always asking for money!!!" Why are we so focused on this? I don't see any of you complaining about all the churches, whether big or small, that have embezzled money. Or how about some churches I've heard of that practice unBiblical principles, like keeping everyone locked in the church until they all come to Christ? No, no, no!! That doesn't matter, does it? "Megachurches are so annoying!! All they ever do is ask for money!" Maybe it's because in the real world, things cost money? Jesus Himself had people who raised funds for His ministry.
Seriously, you want to see change in the world, but then don't like it when people try to collect the necessary resources to make those changes. You want kids in Africa to have clean water? Well, churches need money for plane tickets, supplies and equipment to dig a well, and probably to buy the land that they're going to use to dig that well. You want change in the world, unless it takes something out of your wallet. Then it's just annoying.
Yes, I get it. Some megachurches do use that money for the wrong things, but that hardly means it's okay to put stigmas on ALL megachurches. That's exactly what the Pharisees did: they put stigmas on certain kinds of people (in this instance, people who go to megachurches) and in doing so caused dissension between people. Some times, they even turned people against each other, just like in today's age.
In most small churches I've gone to, everyone is in everyone's business. But does that mean all small churches are like that? Obviously not! There's good with the bad, and bad with the good. That's how the real world is. Maybe if we were able to look past the outer appearance of a church and look at the PEOPLE that are in the church (like how God said that He looks at the heart and not the outward appearance?), maybe our community would be a bit of a better one.
“There’s our pastor on the big screen” gives off 1984 vibes ngl
ОтветитьThat was amazing
ОтветитьInspired
ОтветитьFinally, someone did it. Lol thank you❤Jesus would literally feel the same way.
ОтветитьNext stanza (the slow part): "Our feel-good doctrine may be unnerving~
So go on, pretend we're serving~
Your deepest spir-i-tual need and wounds~
But when open up that Bible to read for your.... self...~
You'll find that God cannot be found... in 501c3 tombs...~"
Gateway Church? 🤔😮😢
Ответитьhe's got a point
Ответитьlaughs in Baptist
ОтветитьThe "luke warm" double meaning went dumb hard
ОтветитьWell done, let’s have more!
ОтветитьNorthside Church(es) in NE Atlanta, 100%. 12 Stone Church in Gwinnett County NE of Atlanta. Creflo Dollar and TD Jake’s and the boys… 100%
ОтветитьAll that and they make the people twice the sons of Gehenna than themselves. There are people starving in their communities, single mothers, orphans and widows desperate for help, but they can seat 2000… they have a rock concert every Sunday morning and evening but the indigent in their communities are outside the walls and out of their minds… oh sure the congregants LOVE the feeling from knowing their “church” has “programs” that supposedly help the needy but they would never set foot in a trailer park or poor section 8 housing complex themselves and teach the gospel face to face and make disciples (talmidim) for ישוע (Jesus)…
ОтветитьI’d watch a full length musical made by Shama
Ответить“try our coffee, it is lukewarm” absolutely
ОтветитьThe video is probably just like their church, no mention of Jesus. 😢
ОтветитьI was raised in a small town Church of Christ with gospel preaching truth in love pastors, even when the truth hurts before it sets us free! Parents who showed me by example how to give my best and first fruits to the Mighty God who created me, the Son who died and rose to save me and the Holy Spirit who comforts me daily. Where Acapella hymns filled our hearts to overflowing. Where we sacrificially loved our brothers and sisters and widows and orphans and strangers. Where "children's church" was a Sunday school class where we learned about everything from creation, to the cross, to the crown of Glory awaiting us. Then the expectation and example of sitting still, listening, praying and worshipping God as one body with the Lord Jesus Christ as our head. I still attend there. My children, my grandchildren are there with me. They are the hope of the future church. God is the center, the reason we come together three times a week. I praise Him for His blessings, knowing I too have a cross to bear that I will place at the feet of Jesus some day.
What more could anyone ask?
I’m a 26 year old woman who grew up Polish Roman Catholic on the east coast (still Catholic) and I had zero clue til I was about 23 what the world of non-denom Christianity looked like and I’ve been horrified ever since.
ОтветитьI love the video. People saying non denominational is garbage. Jesus wasn’t a Baptist , Lutheran, Methodist, etc. So what if you are a small non denominational that doesn’t tithe? If you follow the scripture as it is, not based on denomination, that is closer to Jesus than any other denomination. If it is not in the Book, you shouldn’t be teaching it. Same for rainbow flags and lead female pastors in churches. Maybe everyone should stick to the original version in Koine Greek for the word. The KJV has unicorns in it. Catholics pray to dead people (Mary) which we are not supposed to do either. We could tear every denomination up. How about follow Jesus.
John 4:21-24
21 ¶ Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Just saying.
OMG, this is EVERY non-denom church to a tee! The screen, the noise, the drummer in his little plastic booth. It’s all corporate nonsense. All that’s missing is that annoying couple with tattoos and sandals slightly rocking with their upraised hands during the schlocky hymns.
ОтветитьThis why real men don't go to church
ОтветитьIt’s sad that it’s too accurate, considering that all those souls in there, there is The One who paid for them. It’s scary to think what will happen on judgement day.
ОтветитьSo true. Former megachurch attendee here. That shit was so corporate.
ОтветитьEverything I’ve been trying to explain rationally through essays in a one minute parody
ОтветитьMegachuches and right wing Evangelicalism are why I left organized religion
ОтветитьBrilliant skit
Ответитьbut it's about the heart , what you can't see
ОтветитьYeah unfortunately people expect that they should be entertained at church when they should expect to be educated by a Bible preaching pastor.
ОтветитьHe nailed it!
ОтветитьAlgorithm sent me and what an absolute banger.
ОтветитьYep, that’s a cult
Ответить"A whole new world" to make suburbia feel comfortable
ОтветитьI can’t believe he to rhymed “wallet” with “10 percent”
ОтветитьAs a Buddhist, just a reminder that all this is impermanent.
ОтветитьLet's not forget, this also happens with smaller churches, not just megachurches.
ОтветитьI can love this so much, without hating all mega churches. No harm in ridiculing the excesses.
ОтветитьWhy am I thinking candlestick and teapot?
Ответить🤣
ОтветитьAm i the only person disappointed at no mention of the coffee Cafe?
ОтветитьL😂L God does not dwell in those entertainment centers. read >>
Acts 7:48 KJV
The caption says non-denom but he said non-denomo. Just saying!
ОтветитьUnbelievably accurate! Bravo!
ОтветитьHe forgot to add join a small group.
ОтветитьWhat a funny satire of a a sad situation. The singer is right as the “evangelical” (do people even know what that word means anymore?) church has degenerated to “feel-good-ism” and “experience” as the only sufficient rule for faith and practice. Oh, and add to that “be winsome” and “love thy neighbor” without reference to the first greatest commandment of which this one was only to be analogous to it. Vagueness trumps confessionalism, nuance serves as a refuge for scoundrels and “lived experience” is inerrant, but we’d hate to make God like that in his word! All that to say, Shama, may your children rise up and call you blesses!
Ответить😂😂😂
