The State of Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Expansion

If the base version went down to 10 bucks... maybe... if not gonna wait till oys all released an grab it for 20

Adding content into what is basically a single player game that requires grouping up, the raids, was just a killer for me. I dont want to 'raid' I certainly am not going to pay blizzard any more money for content I never wanted.

A bit late to the convo, but 40 bucks (30 now on sales) is way too pricey for a DLC, imho.

I'd rather give $40 to GGG POE 2 because they earned it! POE2 is freakin amazing on pre-release and they LISTEN to the community and are PROACTIVE in addressing issues with the game. Quite the opposite of Blizzard D4 project.

My only issue with d4 was the same as 3 unlike 1 and 2 how you could make a character however you want but in 3 and 4 I need to use special skills no standard attack to just use weapons all my character building freedom gone

I genuinely don't believe the current dev team that works on Diablo 4 even wants to reach the full potential that Diablo 4 has
Believe it or not there's still time to turn the game around and have it become one of the all time greatest ARPG'S out there

But let's be real does anyone GENUINELY believe they're gonna do that

Take Path Of Exile 2 ITS IN EARLY ACCESS in less than 2 days and it's already gonna launch with better more worthwhile content than Diablo 4 which has the full game plus an expansion out already
Then Path Of Exile 2 at FULL RELEASE will have basically double the amount of phenomenal stuff that's in the early Access

So no I have nearly zero hope for Diablo 4



But I'm still gonna watch my man Raxx's videos cause I enjoy them regardless of the game he's talking about

I waited a year to play the game because I knew this is how it would go..That being said Ive played for a few weeks now and its great at the moment..Glad I waited to play

Hot take: despite its issues, the game was fundamentally more fun in its minute to minute gameplay at launch.

I still play d4 and have been spending time on my character form last season that was neutered when sent to eternal realm. I was a little miffed this time about refarming my best in slot gear like my shako with cooldown triple masterworked or a pair of Fists of Fate that had a max aspect and 3 GAs. The biggest annoyance was learning I couldn’t use rune words because they are DLC content.

d4 is a waste of time and money. blizzard of d2 is gone for good. play other arpgs.

Thanks Raxx, this video helped me decide to proceed with uninstalling the D4. Even though a longtime fan of Diablo, I think I got out of the D4 what I could, maybe sometime in the future when the game is in much better shape and they give something more worthwhile (like another expansion) since this is just not enough, or if I stumble upon some really good deal on VoH, until then, going back to D2R a bit.

Why would I ever be stipid and pay blizzard more for their trash game?

I think new runewords are fine for now. I dont want to have an Enigma situation ever again ...

I mean, the game is good now, not great, but it’s good. It just sucks that it took this long and an additional 40 bucks on top of the initial game price.

Hello. I have something in mind when it comes to the endgame issue in Diablo 4. An idea freely shared to re-share that I would love if they implement: an open, vast map area - only accessable after campaign/story mode - where you explore and "conquer" areas and area bosses (like "maps" system). This could take place in the realm of hell or/and angelic - Pandemonium.

From easy at start to hard to master (and fully possible to complete solo IF I MAY STRESS ON THAT.)

This endgame system would then be replayable with each new character (No account-wide progress)

Because although I really enjoy all the content of Diablo 4 and VOH (minus Dark Citadel being multiplayer-only) , a time-demanding, challenging and fun endgame story would be awesome. Just an idea I wanted to share.

Bought D4 at the expansion release. I think dark citadel is a good design, but D4 doesn't have enough level of the group finder support or communication system as WOW does. Meanwhile, there are too many chores to do. When you didn't play the meta build, watching other people with meta build deleting boss while you spend so much time farming is very disappointing.

In a word : No. buy Last Epoch

Yep I checked out after the desastrous launch of D4 and the extremely boring S1. I am not willing to feed Blizzard more money after they basically got the game to a point where it should've been at launch. That in mind I find it outrageous that they charge you now 40$+ for a non optional update. Dude I payed fkn 70$ and you telling me I can't properly play the game anymore after 1 year (which was mainly fixing things and getting the game running)? Thanks for that. If it was an optional DLC to unlock a new class, some cosmetics and some story quests okay.. But you can't just paywall game relevant features after such a short time.
Sorry but I'm not gonna support that and I'll keep D4 uninstalled (even though I am/was a big fan of the franchise). Just can't with these companies anymore.

I appreciate the comprehensive, unbiased moratorium of season 1, here are some of the reasons why I'm going to pass on purchasing the expansion.


Game balance - I played the entire season 1, and I still think the game has poor game balance with many playstyles being unviable for end-game content.

Uninteresting meta - every season is whiplash, Blizzard designates a class or build to be the overpowered class of the season, trivializing the game, and overshadowing other builds.

A general lack of game direction

If Diablo 3 is any indication of the future of Diablo 4 it's going to take them 5 to 10 years to fix this game, I guess I'll be seeing you all then.

Blizz fumbled Diablo too many times since D2 for me to give a shit or to expect an good game.

I'm new to this game, i already play s6 without expansion, and i'm using rouge, and already in T2, will my current character gone if i buy the expansion now?

So, I am new, so I am starting with the first campaign, even though it said it recommended the new one. Is there anything wrong with trying to learn the history and lore of Diablo 4 by playing both and will I be able to play the vessel of hatred with my same character?

Unfortunately the only way they were getting me back into the game is by making the expansion free. I spent 100 dollars for an unfinished game like a dumbass and I’m just not making that mistake again. I don’t think spending 40 dollars for the game we were supposed to get at launch is fair at all.

Universally powerful "chase items" like D2's Enigma or PoE's Mageblood don't really fit into the overall itemization and character building systems of an ARPG. Why bother with finding or crafting the perfect item for your build on that slot, if there is a generic option that just beats everything?!
If D2-type rund words or D3-type set bonuses ever make a return to D4, I will certainly leave and not come back :/

The expansion imo honestly isn’t worth it for 40 dollars BUT, the game is actually in a pretty good spot right now balance wise. A lot of stuff is viable on literally everything and resistances are functional and extremely important.


Minions are insane now too, they get a little out scaled but they are easily endgame viable and absolutely godtier early game

I'll go back to D4 when I can play a sorc without mostly defensive skills on my skillbar. I can play Last Epoch caster and the defensive stuff is built into the character.

My group and I have been playing Warframe since leaving D4 after our second season. Warframe is grindy but fun. Just started Railjack missions and its like a different game yet still the same game. LIkely stay there for awhile.

One thing that is nice is content creators can grind and gift to viewers Prime Warframes and some mods. I watch a lot more Warframe content than D4 because I have won frames and mods.

Why pay money for Diablo 3.5 when it is a crap game? Diablo.and live service are a bad combo. Just go back and play the GOAT, D2R.

My relationship with D4 as a Diablo fan that never bought the game :
- Launch : OK it looks interesting I'll give it a try later
- First Season : Oh no, they completely out of touch, this is just a money grab, D4 BAD
- Second Season : OK maybe in 2024 on discount
- After : Shit man.. Maybe the expansion ?
- Now : Story is trash, boring, who cares about it at this point, maybe in three years, when they finally complete their D4 FUN formula

Even the original game is still a boring, soulless piece of garbage, no way I'm getting the expansion, probably ever.

Going in to this video prepared to not hear that we have infinite stash tabs and loot filters, but expecting to be disappointed in blizzard. Still worth the watch. Thanks for the content Raxx.
Edit: Sounds like more but not infinite stash tabs. No loot filter. Kind of underwhelmed but sounds like its almost ready for the initial release. I don't think anyone should pay 110 dollars (or more if you got in early before the barb nerfs) to play this. But I could see if you got enough hours to justify the 70 tacking on 40 more. I don't think new players will want to come to this but I can see they backed some value into the additional spend.

Diablo 3 mercs were just fine, particularly the enchantress. She has some powerful aoe cc. As long as you approached the mercs with the understanding that they deal zero damage, and just use them for utility, they were important. Except Lyndon. There was little way to make him useful, but he had the most entertaining lines.

No ...play throne and liberty better game

My main gripe at the moment is that 40$ is a big ask from people who already feel like they wasted their money on the base version of the game when it came out. We all left for a reason.

7 days later for annyone ready this , NO and NO and NO . if you want content you might aswel set $40 on fire and watch that .

As someone who stopped playing almost immediately when the game released, I've been having a blast with the new expansion.
