ClearStream 4Max VHF/UHF Indoor/Outdoor HD TV Antenna Review

I bought this and it was a good recommendation, easy enough to assemble and because it’s freezing I simply leaned it against a beam in the attic and it works great, 58 channels 35 miles from towers in Detroit. Disappointed I’m not getting Windsor channels but I think that a different issue. Thank you Antenna Guy you made this purchase a lot less stressful.👍🏼👍🏼

can the amplifier be replaced and upgraded.. it cant be aimed independently.. all the coils move as a single element and cant pick up all channels.. if moved even a 1/4 inch it loses channels

or is there a better antenna for ft worth 76133 indoor attic

Two questions:
1) Does it matter if it's mounted with the VHF dipole running vertically or horizontally? The way the hanging bracket is made it seems to suggest either way is fine.
2) This looks identical to the Clearstream max V pro (which is what I have). Is there any difference?

Just picked one of these up on Amazon since they are allowing me to pay for it over the course of 3 months, Was using a Phillips rabbit ear antenna with loop, Was getting the main channels but 2 sets of them were pixilated, I am around 25-30 miles from most transmitters, I have this set up a few feet above my tv, Initial set up was a point and pray thing aimed at the main channels towers, picked them all up and those 2 mentioned sets of channels come in much better, Should be noted I live high up in a high rise apartment building with clear line of site to the main towers to the Northwest of my location.

A friend of mine bought the antenna you joked about. It literally fell apart the day after he installed it. But it did receive 20 more channels than the piece of junk I bought. I may be buying the one in this revies but want to check out a few more first. In my situation they are going on the 30 foot pole.

How does the 4v compare to 4Max? How do your test results for these antennas compare? I am planing to buy one of them as an attic antenna. I suspect that the 4v is superior due to the reflector element. Please answer this if you can.

I got that one about a year ago. It was OK but I have made better. A few months ago we had some strong winds come through and it blew my antenna pole down. It cracked the plastic cover and broke one side of the rod. Now it does nothing. I took it apart and looked inside thinking something had come lose or should I say broke lose, but everything seemed to be intact. But still I get nothing out of it. I did not have the money to buy a new one, but I did have one I built some years ago. It had stopped working, after looking it over I found the transformer had come lose.
The only reason I bought this one is because you said it was a good one. And I was pressed for time. So the one I made I replaced the transformer and got it back up in the air. Now it is working.

Can i put this on one of the walls on my garage and still work good... I really do not want to put this in the attic and have to try and run a cable in the wall down to the main floor!

I do like the Clearstream max antenna, but wish they would make the actual connection wire thicker. The wire to my 2max separated recently and that was only after four years of use and being indoors. This alone has me second guessing getting another clearstream.

Can you recommend a Antenna that will pick up low or weak signal 📡📶

Hi there I purchesed clearstream 4max vhf/uhf indoor/outdoor HD TV antenna with 20" mass. I purchased this 3 years ago, and only had to auto scan channels every 6 months or so. But as of the last 6 months I am only getting 1/2 the channels after auto scan. Please don't tell me I need a new antenna after 3 years. Is there something I can look or do to fix the issue?

Will this antenna work properly in a attic?

I live in the 33599 area code and installed a GE Surface Mount Directional Outdoor Hd; Uhf; Vhf TV Antenna. This thing works great. It was also picking up some stations out of my market. So i decided to by another antenna antenna to point north to get the Sarasota / Tampa channels.I bought a Five Star Yagi Satellite HD antenna which said a 200 mile range. The stations I am attempting to get are maybe 60 miles to the tower. I spliced the cables with a cable combiner. Needless to say I get the channels but they are pixilated and intermittent. Very disappointing. I am probably going to take it down and send it back. Considering an amplifier but I don’t want to blow more money if it won’t work. Oh well I wish I would have found your channels prior. Thanks is very informative!

I purchased this one a few weeks ago. I live roughly 45 miles from the big city of Baton Rouge & 60 from New Orleans in a rural area, zip code 70462. It’s install in the attic facing a window towards BR and while I have plenty of channels the few I really want has pixels that break up. Also when I say install I have used rope to pull it into the rafter in position. It’s not secured/grounded to the house just hanging by two lines of rope. I could’ve used a 50ft coaxial cable but ran with 100ft. I’m sure that does not help. Should my first step be an amplifier or should I rerun with a 50ft cable? This one has worked for me in Kelso, WA picking up channels out of Portland and Vancouver.

Tyler. I just bought this antenna. Should arrive next week. Do I need to angle it at all? I am dealing with a lot of trees. Do you think it will still work? I am currently using one of the antennas that you hate the most. It gets me about a dozen channels clearly. Should this improve my signal to get more? Thanks.

What's the difference between the ClearStream 4V and the 4 Max? Does the wire grid on the back of the 4 & 4V work better than the 4 Max without the grid? Thanks. Great Information.

I have this exact antenna and it worked flawlessly at my old house. I tried it in a metal shop at my new place and cant get much signal. Im gonna try it mounted on the roof and see if it helps. Also would you suggest trying a signal booster? I was looking at an Antennas Direct brand Juice amplifier box to boost signal and wasn’t sure if it would help.

Can I remove just one side of directional grid behind loops on regular 4V to make it open for rear signals like the max without causing other issues ?

How does this compare to the Range Xperts Insane Gain VHF / UHF Long Range XPS-1500?

I just got this one and put it on the roof. I got 65 channels. Idk if that's a lot, but I can say that's great

I use a $10 indoor antenna that pulls in stations up to 100 miles. Put it near a window or outside wall and works good.

From numerous comments on different forums and now your comment, it seems that wives are the biggest impediment to high quality TV antenna reception, and also stereo equipment, especially speakers, if they don't fit in with the decor. I wonder why they seem to prioritize room visual aesthetics over audio and TV quality. It makes them seem superficial and lacking in deeper discernment.

Great video just purchased one and now I’m able to get all VHF high channels out of New York with no issue 51 miles away also I’m able to pick up WPVI 6 MeTV 2 and CH4 out of hammonton NJ all 31 miles away even in my attic I will be mounting the unit on the roof since those 2 NYC VHF channel signal from 13 and 7 on the fringe of cutting out if I experience bad weather conditions

IlLive on the first floor of a 3 story apartment building. I'm thinking of purchasing an indoor antenna for my smart tv. I live about 45 miles north of Boston. Is there any current models that might work for me and if there is, is there an amp. that will increase the gain, that will improve the signal.
