I own one ,I drive one it is an absolute jewel !
Many say that it is just an old car but i personally think it is better than the new Mercedes models.
It has a nice feel when you ride in in and that can not be replaced by all these modern cars .
I am not an old person that says only old things were good but even for a teen like me the feel of changing gears and having full control of everything is in this car ,an amazing car.
If you also own one ,please ,just for how much of a nice car this is ,love it and use it.

Built like a tank and cheap to maintain. Bought mine in 2013 and still have it. W202's engine will last a lifetime if taken care of.
My friend, a taxi driver has 1,5 million kilometers on the clock and it still runs flawlessly.

Не любо! По мне, 190 лучше был. Солидней выглядел, и снаружи и изнутри. И для ног задних пассажиров места было достаточно.
А вообще, если брать машину из того же времени, эту или аналогичную, я предпочел бы этому мерсу Ауди 80 В4. Там и в салоне достаточно места, и оцинкованная она.

Love these atmospheric diesel engines. I have bought a Peugeot 206 1.9d and I'm very happy with my choice. 70 CV if you know how to work with its gearbox are enough for most of situations....good test!!!!

This car( Mercedes C class 1994-1997) is amazing. I own one and I can tell you for nothing I will replace it. I own three new cars but this one cannot be replaced.I personally think Mercedes constructors had worked hard on this model which remains the best ever.

Seing the year 1997 this must be a C220 CDI ? The older C220 Diesel was absolutely terrible with the rotating fuel pump. Not what you would expect from Mercedes-Benz.

Hi, nice video. May I ask how tall are you? I just purchased a C180 W202 wonderful car, except I am 181cm and still can't find the right driving position. The steering wheel is non-adjustable. BUT if i put the seat in a comfortable position for the feet then the steering is too far away. If i put the seat closer then my legs are too "cramped" and my knees touch the steering wheel's bottom. it's driving me crazy. Gonna try some other positions or even to change my steering with an aftermarket one so i can put spacers...

One of the best cars I've ever owned. Drove 500.000 km with. Still a pitty that I had to sell it for a newer one.

A Long life car

I’m from the USA and these days the W202 chassis C Class is very rare. I did a 6 speed manual swap from an SLK of the same era. I have a 2000 C230 K Sport and it’s a very fun car to drive. I’ve had it for almost 2 years and haven’t had a single major issue.

Guys, Is this car fast enough for a first car? I was looking for a w203 on a website and I accidentally didn't save the filter for years and w202's popped up too. I found one with this engine that has a brand new looking light creamy brown leather interior and it looks gorgeous and taken care of a lot in the interior. The exterior has it's issues but the price is 1500$. Should I buy it without thinking? Honestly I'm down for driving an older car for my first car and probably keeping it and taking care of it until 1 day it's considered a retro car but I searched up some data on the engine and I know it's realiable but it says 16.3 seconds 0-60 which seems way too slow to me. I don't need a fast first car but I don't want a number higher than 12 seconds for 0-60. Is it really that slow or?

30 year old design

the 1st generation c class was a underrated car. In armenia it's amazing how many of these things are still on the road 25 years later. And this one has the revolutionary CDI motor. At the time this car was an amazing breakthrough to have a diesel with more then 100ft/lbs of torque per liter. Believe it or not this car right here actually is one of the climaxes of mercedes benz. A lot of people think in the 70's or 80's but really the CDI was the ultimate motor for mercedes. it was such a breakthrough in technology and performance. Think about it, this little diesel has a high power output per liter then a Acura NSX, or a ferrari and integra type R. Those motors were getting 100hp per liter, this diesel get's 120 ft/lbs of torque per liter. Quiet, economical, down low with hardly any turbo lag.

Just picked up a c220 off Craigslist it’s a 96. Only problem is the central locking pump in the trunk won’t stop growling. Cold a/c but the center vents aren’t blowing. Other than that she’s a beauty with only 45k miles!!
