You have no idea how much i needed to hear this. I imagine you will reach many people with this essential message. Thank you for adding perspective which helps manage mental illness.

For all of you who needed to hear this like I did, sending you a warm hug and encouragement.

Don’t delve into politics until you have your own life in order. You cannot “fix” a nation when you are unstable, and politics will break you if you can’t handle it. My recommendation is to avoid politics at all together, unless you’ve got your life together (spiritually/emotionally). Otherwise you will end up losing your mind.

It's not even about her childhood. Any decent person with empathy should feel the same as her: depressed and outraged by the horrors & injustice.

When you understand the role of politics is to work directly against the people then you may be able to release your emotional attachment to politics. After all you don’t get mad when a bird catches a fish. Just protect yourself against government with physical gold and thank me later

How bad does the world have to get befor its OK to just leave? Like fire and brimstone? I'm sorry but everyone has a limit. And the suffering of others will effect you no matter what you tell yourself. Apathy with be the end of us all

Maybe i need to read Virginia woolf, but it seems from a surface level anyway that she was already a bit mad? WW2 wasnt good for anyone's psyche, much less someone who was already dealing with extreme emotional damage.

I agree with the idea one should take care of themselves first before stepping even a foot into politics, you cant begin to help others without helping oneself first.

If childhood mistreatment and systemic oppression are wounds of dehumanization, rehumanization is needed. We can fight against dehumanization every day by rehumanizing ourselves and others in small ways -- putting down our devices to listen to ourselves, being in and with nature, giving ourselves nutrition instead of just sustenance, laughing with instead of at, asking what is needed instead of assuming we know, resting, creating, etc.

It does seem as though life since WW2 has been a merciless test in hope. Seems the goal is to wear humanity's hope down to the nub. I am interested to find out how tenacious our hope can be

Terrible video. The points made are barely connected and sound like propaganda. There are a lot of misleading statements. She was in Sussex, just south of London, so there no doubt she would have been directly affected by the war. She had major childhood trauma, so she carried a lot of emotional issues and no doubt an inability to deal with too much stress and anxiety. She died before any allies knew about the holocaust, so those inserts are wrong. This video just says "she killed herself because Hitler was a meanie" and glossed over relevant psychological information. She was sensitive before the war, so she was already predisposed for neurotic behaviour. This video does more damage than good, its easily interpreted as "your suicide is someone else's fault"

This is interesting. My husband comes home from work every day and listens to everything Trump. He keeps up on the news, the chaos, and the on goings. I don't care either way, unless it's affecting my family personally, but to him, it seems as though it's necessary to be in the know of politics when what he thinks is right is happening.

He was severely and continuously physically abused by his stepfather from the age of 3 to 14. 😢

Essential video, I love this channel.
The worst part is when people also spread hate messages, of any kind.
But I can't blame these people directly, because the vast majority are being deceived or manipulated indirectly.

The best thing ive done is not give a shit about what happens in the world politics or not its all too much with very little to do to "fix it". The world has been like this since the beginning, chaotic, cold and indifferent and will continue to be so best is to watch from afar.

We are living through dark and unsettling times. The soul of the United States is being quietly smothered, as the slow march toward autocracy and fascism is disguised as democracy. People are being fed illusions while their freedoms are quietly stripped away.
When we choose comfort over truth…
We are doomed to repeat the nightmares our ancestors fought so hard to escape.
Nevertheless , we have our calm inner-self , where we can find peace !

Agree that retraumatisation could be the root of her illness. Today's wars are as well perceived very differently by people who have experienced the same sense of violence and evil in their childhood.
