Video appeal from Kazan: YIT, stop the construction in a natural park!

Video message from the residents of Kazan to 'YIT Helsinki' building company with requirement to abandon the residental project of 'Taloni' on the territory of natural park. The petition on change.org/parkchempionov is signed by over 40500 people.

After the conclusions of professional ecologists, the whole territory of the bank of the Kazanka River represents a valuable natural area, and the plot, owned by “YIT Kazan” could and should be used as a buffer zone without construction of high-rise buildings, keeping the possibility for people to walk and to make sports and have playgrounds, whereas the rest part of this territory should be leaved natural, and a special protection area should be created. If the buffer zone will be built up, people will have to walk in the zone of special protection, so the rare species of plants and animals will be endangered. Residents of Kazan have organized numerous actions against building and applied to municipality of city and other authorities continually.
Nevertheless, during the press-conference 28 of March 2018, dedicated to presentation of project by “YIT Kazan”, Vladimir Sorokin, the general director of company, could not answer to the questions of ecologists and correspondents, why the views of scientists and residents of Gavrilova street are ignored and the current project does not fulfil the requirements of sustainable development and infringes the human rights of citizens for adequate environment.

We kindly ask the company owners to find an alternative option, which will not contradict the principles of YIT and save the reputation of company.
